NEW YORK, NY - Lucas Entertainment received 24 GAYVN Awards nominations Monday, including the studio's fourth consecutive nod for Best Picture.
Return to Fire Island, Lucas Entertainment's 2008 blockbuster, follows in the cinematic footsteps of previous Best Picture winners Dangerous Liaisons (2006) and Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita. The latter set a GAYVN Awards record when it snagged 14 trophies in 2007: Best Picture, Best Actor (Michael Lucas), Art Direction, Direction (Lucas and Tony DiMarco), DVD Extras/Special Edition, Editing (Frank Tyler), Marketing Campaign, Music (Nekked), Non-Sex Performance (Savanna Samson), Packaging, Screenplay (DiMarco), Supporting Actor (Spencer Quest), Threesome (Jason Ridge, Lucas, Derrick Hanson) and Videography (DiMarco).
Return to Fire Island also marks the debut of Mr. Pam as creative director of film and video for the studio.
"I'm very honored to be nominated in so many categories, including Director and Cinematography. That totally rocks," said Pam. "I moved to New York City and started working for Lucas Entertainment in 2008, so this acknowledgment is as good a finish to the year as some of the cum shots I filmed. Watch out, porn world. This is only the beginning."
Lucas Entertainment president and CEO Michael Lucas said he was proud of his studio's accomplishments over the past year, despite the personal challenges he faced.
"I'm proud to have produced such a large number of videos this year, especially since I faced a personal problem in 2008," he said. "I'd like to thank the judges for recognizing our achievements."
