AMSTERDAM—Video-on-demand network Homoactive.TV has added U.S. dollars, British pounds and euros to its payment-processing options. In addition, the site soon will be available in a wider variety of languages, including Italian, Spanish and Czech. Currently, visitors who speak English, German, French and Dutch may interact with the site in the language in which they are most fluent.
A spokesman for parent company Staxus said both moves reflect the website’s growing international audience.
“We are committed to providing our sites in the language and currency best suited to our customers, so this is just the beginning,” Homoactive.TV product manager Jason Rose explained. “What’s more, as we continue to grow we'll be adding even more languages and currencies. Our sophisticated platform detects the user’s geographical location and displays prices in the local currency. Movie prices vary from film to film, and from currency to currency—the system is extremely powerful in this regard—allowing great flexibility in setting sensitive price points based on a number of criteria.
“Generally speaking, newer releases and special features will attract premium per-minute rates, as do the regular exclusive pre-releases on offer,” he added. “Prices then gradually drop over time. Behind the scenes, studios can monitor the performance of their films in real time, and also in the currency of their choice. As such, the system is truly multi-language, multi-currency in every regard.”
Homoactive.TV adds new studios to its 1,000-title database every week, Rose said. Users may choose to view content based on tastes, fetishes, prefered models, directors, studios and wallets. Prices start as low as .05 euros per minute. The highest price on the site is .39 euros for pre-releases from top studios.
