LOS ANGELES—In the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in the Greenwich Village area of New York City. The incident touched off a series of violent demonstrations against official persecution of the LGBT community and spawned the modern gay rights movement.
Each summer, festivals across the U.S. commemorate the Stonewall Riots. Usually known as PRIDE festivals, the events celebrate sexual diversity.
One of the oldest of the celebrations is LA PRIDE, which this year will celebrate its 40th anniversary June 11-13. “PRIDE 365: Power. Passion. Purpose.” is expected to draw 400,000 to the heart of West Hollywood to revel amongst world-class headlining entertainment, a street fair and a parade.
As a sponsor of LA PRIDE, Cybersocket plans to host a kickoff party, a pre-festival sponsors dinner and a street-fair booth and invites other adult entertainment companies to join in the festivities as sponsors.
Third-party transaction-processing company Epoch already has signed on to present the Pride Kickoff Party scheduled to take place from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. June 11. Other sponsors include Buddy Profits, Video Secrets, Men 4 Rent Now, Hot House Entertainment, Male Stockroom, Webair and AVN.
The festival booth, to be located in one of the PRIDE pavilions, will hand out gift bags to celebrants. Cybersocket will insert sponsors’ gift items and marketing materials into the bags.
According to Cybersocket co-founder Morgan Sommer, benefits of sponsoring Cybersocket’s presence at LA PRIDE include direct contact with adult industry professionals and service providers and targeted marketing to thousands of club, festival and parade attendees.
