Channel 1 Enters Awards Season with a Bang

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Channel 1 Releasing has received nominations for 2010 awards from several prominent organizations. Eleven nods came from the Cybersocket Web Awards, two from the WeHo Awards and one from the AVN Awards.

In Cybersocket’s Surfer’s Choice categories, C1R’s official web portal, C1R.com, was nominated for “Best Original Content,” “Best Video Company,” “Best Live Cam” (for the site’s Live & Raw section) and “Best VOD Site.” Studio co-founder Chi Chi LaRue was nominated for “Best Personality,” and her movie Taken: To the Lowest Level for “Movie of the Year.” The studio’s Double Czech also received a nomination in that category. C1R exclusives Johnny Hazzard and Jeremy Bilding received nominations for “Best Porn Star.”

In the Industry Choice categories, C1R received nominations for “Best Live Cam” and “Best Video Company.”

“I can’t think of a better way to start the awards season,” said C1R publicist Jason Sechrest. “Because the Cybersocket Awards are voted on by fans, it’s a great opportunity for them to give back to their favorite porn stars and studios. Get out there and vote! Use every email address you’ve got and help C1R sweep this year’s Cybersocket Awards.”

C1R also received nominations for the annual WeHo Awards, which honor prominent members of the LGBT business and social communities that compose West Hollywood, Calif. Chi Chi LaRue’s, an erotic boutique, was nominated as “Best Adult Business,” and LaRue received a nomination in the “Best Drag Diva” category.

In addition, LaRue received a 2010 AVN Award nomination for “Best Screenplay” based on her movie Jenna Confidential.
