NEW YORK—After a three-month exclusive run at TLAVideo.com, director Lukas Ridgeston’s controversial gay adult movie Taboo has been released to general retail through EuroMedia Distribution.
Produced by Lukas Ridgeston Productions under the auspices of BelAmi, Taboo stars Czech twins Milo and Elijah Peters, whose peters perform, unsheathed, inside the opposite twin.
Fueled by word-of-mouth about the twins’ forbidden act, the DVD experienced unprecedented sales at TLA, according to a spokesman. Based on initial sales figures, a EuroMedia spokesman said the DVD seems destined for similar success in the brick-and-mortar space.
“Taboo quickly sold out of its entire initial order almost in pre-orders alone,” Product Director Hugo Harley said. “It’s been a good problem to deal with, having to call the replicator so many times since this release. Taboo is truly an unprecedented success in this day and age for DVD sales. It gives proof that you can still sell a significant amount of DVDS even in today’s tough market.”
In addition to the notorious Peters boys, the title also features Brandon Manilow, Dolph Lambert, Manuel Rios and Trevor Yates.
