CHICAGO, IL– Last year, they stole the show on the red carpet and at all the pre-parties. This year, the boys of AustinZane.com are taking over! As one of the stars of the show, Austin Andrews has been voted “fan favorite” to co-host The 2012 Grabby Awards with adult entertainment icon Chi Chi LaRue, legendary drag performer Honey West and gay porn superstars Adam Killian and Tom Wolfe. The ceremony will be held over Memorial Day Weekend at Park West Theater inChicago,IL.
This marks the first time in the 15-year history of the show that an internet-based porn star has hosted the evening’s festivities. Having never had the exposure of being in a movie for a major DVD studio, Austin’s win for Fan Favorite signifies a shift in the gay porn world, wherein a web star can now be just as popular as the “superstars” of today’s biggest studio exclusives.
“We must just have the best fans in the whole world,” says Andrews, “and that’s why we love them so much. They did this. Not me. It’s a real honor to be the first web performer to do something like this. I have never hosted anything in my life so I’m nervous as hell but I promise I will give it my all and do my best to make everyone proud.”
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 3.
