The winners of the 2009 AVN Adult Movie Awards were announced Saturday, Jan. 10, live on stage at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
Co-hosted by porn superstars Belladonna and Jenna Haze with comedian Thea Vidale, the 26th annual awards show brought fans and media from around the world to the 12,000-seat venue to celebrate with a who's who of the adult entertainment industry.
Highlights of the show included a rousing musical performance from Grammy-nominated artist Flo Rida, featuring a surprise appearance by ex-Public Enemy hype man and reality TV star Flavor Flav. Fellow rapper T-Pain also jumped on stage to join the big production number.
As expected, Digital Playground's blockbuster sequel Pirates II swept the awards, scoring trophies for Best Video Feature, Best Director for company co-founder Joone, and Best Actor for Evan Stone, among others.
Haze won the coveted Female Performer of the Year trophy, while Digital Playground contract girl Stoya was crowned Best New Starlet. Joanna Angel accepted James Deen's award for Male Performer of the Year.
