HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—The live cam community was fêted in grand style on Wednesday night at the first annual YNOT Cam Awards, held at the Avalon in Hollywood. In an impressive debut, the team from YNOT drew in a crowd of cam performers and industry professionals from many of the major live cam platforms, providing food, a hosted bar and entertainment from standup comedians Sammy Obeid and Kelsey Cook.
After the comics entertained the crowd, YNOT co-founder Jay Kopita and adult performer/cam star Shawna Leneé took to the stage to serve as the evening’s cohosts. And about two-thirds of the way through the evening, adult star Nina Hartley bounced onto the stage to give a short and rousing speech about the empowering force of live cams for performers. “Cam life forever!” she exulted at the end.
In addition to the awards for models, the event’s platinum sponsors—ImLive, Chaturbate, Studio 20 and Flirt4Free—received their own trophies. Other supporters included broadcast sponsor CamOnCash, and gold sponsors iWantEmpire, FreeWebCams, Terpon, Sex.cam and the Phoenix Forum. Interspersed throughout the evening were stylish promotional videos produced by some of these sponsors.
