LOS ANGELES - X-Play producers Jeff Mullen and Scott David have signed a deal to offer their bestselling 'Brady Bunch' parody Not the Bradys XXX on demand exclusively through HotMovies.com.
“We held off on VOD sales as a way to allow brick & mortar and online stores to have the best chance to rack up incredible DVD numbers, which they are still doing,” said Mullen. “Now we go VOD with Hot Movies and I think that Not the Bradys XXX will perform wonderfully to an entirely fresh online audience."
Marc Bruder of Cable Entertainment Distribution (CED) brokered the deal for X-Play. The relationship with HotMovies is expected to continue with future titles.
"X-Play represents the best there is in the newest generation of adult studios," said James Cybert, director of business development for HotMovies.com. "We are ecstatic and proud to be the only VOD site to feature Not the Bradys XXX, and we look forward to a long and mutually rewarding partnership with X-Play."
Launched in 2005, X-Play has scored big hits for Hustler Video/LFP with its Britney Rears series and Not the Bradys XXX. A Not the Bradys sequel is planned for release this year.
X-Play also has a number of similar projects in various stages of development. Upcoming features from the Hollywood-based production company include Not Bewitched XXX, Not the Partridge Family, a 'Beverly Hillbillies' spoof and a porno musical capitalizing on the popularity of Disney's High School Musical.
Mullen credits his friends at Hustler, Adam & Eve and SexZ Pictures with a large part of the company's success. According to a release from Mullen's PR firm All Media Play, X-Play will shoot an estimated 30 adult videos this year, including for-hire work with gonzo series such as Long Dong Black Kong and Bubble Gum Cuties (Bad Seed).
“We have known Jeff and co-producer Scott David for many years and witnessed their growth and positive contributions to companies and studios that have utilized their talents to establish some of the biggest branded series in our industry," said Bruder. "We have worked with them over the years and are proud to represent the broadcast rights to X-Play owned productions now. CED expects X-Play to be one of the major forces in the market."
