LOS ANGELES—Today Wicked Pictures released the box cover for contract director Brad Armstrong’s next movie, The Preacher's Daughter. It’s always a big deal when this careful craftsman brings a new movie to market, whether it’s a big epic like Underworld (which won Movie of the Year at the 2014 AVN Awards) or an emotional drama like Aftermath (which won Best Drama in 2015).
The Preacher's Daughter falls into the latter category. In anticipation of the movie’s fall debut, Wicked has unveiled the project’s cover art, featuring 2014 AVN Best New Starlet Mia Malkova.
Arriving in stores September 14, the original story by Armstrong follows the misadventures of Marissa (Malkova), the 19-year-old daughter of a small-town preacher (played by the director). She has always been “Daddy’s little girl” and never gotten into trouble—until she meets Billy (Xander Corvus), the town’s bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Before long, the two become lovers, but Marissa’s perfect world is turned upside down as her father and mother (Alexis Fawx) try to stop her from seeing Billy. But the harder they try, the stronger the bond between the two grows.
The movie is a bit of a departure for Armstrong, because unlike his other big September release—DNA, starring Jessica Drake and Asa Akira—there are no Wicked contract stars in the movie. However, there is one actor who Armstrong has worked with multiple times, and to impressive effect. While shooting the movie, Armstrong revealed that he wrote The Preacher’s Daughter with Xander Corvus in mind for the part of Billy. And Armstrong’s predicting that the male star’s work in the movie will put him in the running for a Best Actor statuette at the 2017 AVN Awards.
And Corvus isn’t the only cast member Armstrong is happy to shower with praise. "The Preacher's Daughter is amazing," he enthused. "Everyone did such a great job. Mia Malkova, Xander Corvus, Alexis Fawx, Mercedes Carrera and Jessa Rhodes—remember those names, because you'll be hearing them a lot come awards season!"
The Preacher's Daughter is being released in a two-disc set, which will include three bonus sex scenes, a still gallery, hardcore trailers and other content exclusive to the DVD release.
