LOS ANGELES—There has been plenty of buzz on social media about Wicked Pictures director Brad Armstrong’s next big thing, and now it’s finally hitting the street. The veteran director’s first project since January’s AVN Awards Show—when The Preacher’s Daughter won Best Drama as well as acting honors for principals Xander Corvus and Armstrong himself— Ethni*City follows a diverse group of African American men and women whose destinies collide, shot on location in and around Los Angeles.
Boasting an impressive ensemble cast—Misty Stone, Kira Noir, Prince Yahshua, Chanell Heart, Osa Lovely, September Reign, Ricky Johnson, Yasmine de Leon, Sarah Banks, Jezabel Vessir, Sadie Santana, Dirk Huge, Nat Turnher, Tyler Knight, Eddie Jaye, Stallion and others—Ethni*City is available online at Wicked.com and as a two-disc DVD with bonus content, including a non-sex cut of the movie. To view the safe-for-work trailer, see this link on YouTube.com.
Ethni*City follows an array of characters drawn to reflect virtually every sector of modern L.A.’s cultural matrix. Featuring power-suited attorneys and football greats to emergency medical technicians and police officers, the storyline sees friendships forged, promises broken and tensions flaring as relationships intersect and collide. In addition to Armstrong’s signature high production values, Ethni*City will feature six sex scenes. From a couples encounter showcasing Misty Stone and Eddie Jaye to a four-way featuring Sarah Banks, September Reign, Dirk Huge and Nat Turnher, the scenes are intended to be integral to the story.
While Armstrong has created all-black productions before—his Wicked Passions vignette release A Touch of Seduction received a nomination for Best Ethnic Themed Release - Black—Ethni*City’s ambitious screenplay and powerhouse cast should take his vision to the next level. “Everyone gave 100 percent in this movie,” the director said. “Their understated, natural performances make you believe every word, and make you feel like you’re right there inside the story with them.”
Wicked Pictures president and owner Steve Orenstein expressed his satisfaction as well. “When traveling the country meeting and training retail staff we met employees of color who would complement the quality of our movies and hoped we could create the same high-quality product where the whole cast looked like them, and their customers. With Ethni*City Brad has done exactly that. We hope this movie will be well received and we look forward to delivering more.”
Packaged in a keepsake sleeve, Wicked’s two-disc DVD delivers value to consumers. In addition to the 141-minute movie, the special features include a 42-minute non-sex cut of the film, three bonus sex scenes, character auditions, bloopers, photo galleries, trailers and other bonus content exclusive to the DVD release.
