NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – It was the porn event of the year, and a smashing success. Instead of the late-night din and self-congratulatory rattle held in some Hollywood nightclub where the music's too loud, Wicked Pictures' release party for Brad Armstrong's Coming Home was more like a friendly county fair.
Along with the barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers, game booths and music, the party had two open bars serving liquor and beer. In keeping with the movie's theme and setting that invoked Iraq, the 8,000 square foot Annex Goathouse featured security in full military regalia, unexploded ordnance, some Humvees and a full-sized tank. You usually don't see that kind of firepower at a porn event.
Out in back of the building were carnival-style games that crowd loved and lots of Wicked swag was handed out as prizes. There was also a raffle which gave the winner three Wicked Pictures' contract girls to host a personal backyard cookout.
Midway through the event, Joy King, Wicked Pictures' vice president of special projects, told AVN.com, "So far, things are going great. People are having a great time enjoying the raffle and the dunking booth. That went spectacularly well and we raised some good money off that. We're excited to have had such a great turnout from everyone. We're having a great time!"
Wicked Pictures' CEO Steve Orenstein echoed those sentiments. He said, "Well, we tried to something a little different and it's going great. The movie's a little bit about the war in Iraq and we thought it would make a great outdoor party in the daytime with a barbecue. I think it's good. People are enjoying themselves. I think a lot of people who don't typically come out for these parties showed up today."
Wicked Pictures' contract girl jessica drake, looking good in military drag, was especially enthused about the dunking booth. "I think one of the highlights had to be the dunking booth with Brad Armstrong. He got really wet, I'm happy to say. We were really grateful to be able use this opportunity to get people to donate to all the charities. It's been a really successful night. As soon as we're done here, I'm going to have a drink!"
All proceeds from the party are to be donated to national charities that support the troops, and, according to King, approximately $10,000 was raised.
