LOS ANGELES—The second scene of acclaimed director and AVN Male Performer of the Year Seth Gamble's Wicked Pictures series Reckless dropped today on Wicked.com.
Produced by four-time AVN Director of the Year Axel Braun, Reckless is an eight-scene limited series from Gamble, who stars in, wrote and directed the action drama.
The new scene, “Episode 2: What? I Didn’t Kill Anyone!” focuses on the dilemma facing racing enthusiast and tech genius Silas Knight (Gamble, performing his first lead in one of his own narrative productions). Fresh out of prison, he vows to straighten out his life and start a legitimate business with his beautiful wife Harlow Knight (AVN Best Actress - Featurette winner Ivy Wolfe). But the past just won't let go, and he finds himself enmeshed in a web of greed and betrayal after creating a chip that radically improves car performance.
From master mechanic Brooke Michaels (AVN Best Leading Actress winner Kenna James) to corrupt detective Matteo Bennett (AVN Hall of Fame member Lexington Steele), everyone wants what Silas has. But when a dead body is discovered, all the evidence points directly at Silas, who gets arrested. Desperate to help clear her husband, Harlow throws herself at the mercy of his former lover, Avena (Kenzie Anne), daughter of mobster Dino Moretti (Axel Braun). But everyone wonders if Silas was framed, or did he really do it?
“In movies, innocent characters often find themselves falsely portrayed as guilty for heinous murders,” Gamble said. “The actual perpetrator manipulates the situation by planting evidence, gaslighting, lying to law enforcement, and employing various strategies. My goal was to start with that idea but inject an emotional twist into it. It's intriguing that such criminal setups actually occur in real life, where individuals are framed by killers in dramatic scenarios involving affairs, fake evidence, and astonishing death wishes that seem straight out of a Hollywood screenplay.”
The cast also includes Nathan Bronson, Tommy Pistol, Ryan Reid, August Skye, Nicole Doshi, David Lee and others.
Of the performers in Reckless' latest scene, Gamble said, "I couldn't have asked for a more ideal performer than Kenzie Anne to bring Avena Moretti to life. My intention was to showcase a different side of her talent, one that I hadn't neccesarily witnessed before, while building upon her already incredible repertoire.
“She possesses the beauty and presence of a model, but what sets her apart is her exceptional acting skill and charisma, allowing her to bring any character to life with ease. However, in this particular scenario, her allure becomes vexing. On one hand, Avena’s charm is a positive attribute, but she can just as easily use it to be manipulative. She has no problem using it as a tool of deception,” he added.
Regarding Bronson's character, Gamble said, "Liam Nash is a character that carries over from Privilege. Within the narrative of this story, he stands on the precipice of inheriting his father's wealth and business, while the elder Nash is on the verge of being incarcerated. Trapped with an unreliable gambler for a brother, Liam's journey intertwines with the Morettis, to whom his younger brother Lucas is heavily indebted.
"Nathan and Kenzie Anne were both honored with acting nominations this year, and it becomes abundantly clear why once you witness their performances in Reckless," Gamble continued. "They immediately understood that while the Nash and Moretti families were alike in some ways, their characters could just as easily end up in an adversarial relationship. As a filmmaker, what excited me the most was the seamless translation of their intensity and chemistry as actors into the sex. They remained completely immersed in their characters throughout, and the surge of passion and emotion elevated an already great scene."
"Well, let me tell you, Kenzie Anne and I delivered a performance," Bronson agreed enthusiastically. "From her outstanding acting skills to the chemistry we shared on screen, everything was truly incredible. I am eagerly anticipating the public's reaction to this scene because it is bound to leave their jaws dropping. I was also overjoyed that Seth decided to bring my character from Privilege back for this film. It’s important for me to be a part of such an extraordinary and influential project. And if we could just take a moment to appreciate the phenomenal job Seth did as a director? He really infused his artistic passion into this remarkable movie."
The second episode of Reckless is available now exclusively on Wicked.com.
