CHATSWORTH, Calif.—This Saturday, July 28, adult industry veteran director/publisher Kelly Holland will host the ninth edition of her Vice Is Nice gathering, all to benefit The Animal Rescue Alliance, a no-kill farm sanctuary for lost and abandoned pets and farm animals of (nearly) all sizes. The evening, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.—as the sun's going down and the landscape begins to cool off—will have something for everyone: a silent auction, a big-stakes poker tournament and other casino games, delicious foods (vegetarian and otherwise) and sweets of many varieties, tarot card readings, a magician, henna tattoos, raffles (some of these baskets need to be seen to be believed!), a red-carpet style photo area—and of course several bars dotted around the party site, Holland's home turf, the four-acre Rancho Providencia located at 10945 Old Santa Susana Pass Road in Chatsworth.
Animal rescue is a cause near and dear to Holland. Several dogs, cats, geese and other birds, not to mention several horses, all live at her ranch, and The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA), the main co-sponsor of Vice Is Nice, operates as both an adoption agency and a sanctuary for dogs, cats, horses, birds, goats and donkeys. Additionally, TARA has a special projects committee that works to help women and families who are victims of domestic violence in need of short-term care for their pets as they transition to safe housing. Through its outreach, it also works to support and coordinate programs with other worthwhile rescues in Southern California.
Vice Is Nice is one of those rare events where dozens of adult performers and other personalities party side by side with animal rights supporters and rescuers, all donating to support the cause of caring for homeless and often abused animals. Discount tickets to the event are still available for individuals, and those purchasing the Vice Duo and Trio Packs not only get multiple admission tickets but also coupons for food and drink. The tickets can be purchased here. Separate tickets to the poker tournament are also available here. And don't forget: Donations are tax deductible, since TARA is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Oh; and you have to be 21 years old or older to get in.
One tip: While parking is available and shuttles from the parking lot to the party run frequently, the lot fills up pretty quickly, so why not take TARA's suggestion and use Uber/Lyft?
