SmokingGun.com Takes Aim at Stormy Daniels/Donald Trump Connection

LAKE TAHOE, Calif.—In 2006, Stormy Daniels had been an adult actress for about six years, and a Wicked contract player for nearly that long, when she met real estate mogul (now presidential candidate) Donald Trump at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, where she was working a Wicked booth at the tournament and handing out Wicked swag bags to some of the contestants. And according to an article just published on TheSmokingGun.com, that's where Trump, one of the contestants (who didn't do very well), struck up an acquaintance with Daniels, while "the billionaire’s wife was at home with the couple’s four-month-old son," and even posed for a photo or two with the blond starlet.

"The photo op between the married billionaire and the porn star would be the start of a relationship that would prompt whispers in the adult film community, according to TSG sources," TSG's correspondent William Bastone wrote. "In fact, [Daniels] confided to friends that she engaged in a sexual affair with Trump, whom she claimed had promised to help her get cast on The Apprentice or another TV show."

One person who doesn't believe any sexual affair took place is Daniels' then-husband, Michael Moz—but what the pair did do may still raise the eyebrows of supporters of the candidate, whose track record with women has been the source of news stories and gossip internationally, and hasn't done his campaign much good.

"In a series of interviews, [Moz] recalled that after [Daniels] met Trump at the Nevada golf tournament—where she had dinner one night with the mogul and [Ben] Roethlisberger—she maintained contact with the businessman," Bastone wrote. "Trump, [Moz] said, would dial the couple’s Los Angeles home and chat with [Daniels] (who sometimes put the calls on speakerphone). [Moz] recalled that Trump invited [Daniels] to the January 2007 launch of Trump Vodka. Paparazzi photos show that Trump, his son Donald Jr., Kim Kardashian, and [Daniels] (accompanied by fellow porn star Tera Patrick) attended the party at the Les Deux nightclub in L.A.. In March 2007, at Trump’s invitation, [Daniels] attended the Trump-owned Miss USA pageant at L.A.’s Kodak Theater. ... On another occasion, [Moz] said, Clifford met with Trump one evening at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Additionally, during a trip to New York, [Daniels] stopped by Trump’s Manhattan office, [Moz] recalled.

"Asked about the nature of [Daniels'] relationship with Trump, [Moz]—who married [Daniels] in November 2007—said that he was 'not under the impression' that she had an affair with the tycoon. 'It would be surprising, but not shocking,' said [Moz], who added that [Daniels] had many celebrity fans, some of whom became friends with the porn star."

AVN contacted Moz to ask about the article, and he confirmed much of what was written.

"I spoke with them [TheSmokingGun.com] a long time ago," Moz said. "I haven't even read the article, so I don't know what's going on with it, but Stormy and Donald were friends and they maintained that friendship for a couple of years. Her and I were married. I know they stayed in touch. She was trying to work on some projects with him, and as far as I know, there was no extramarital stuff going on. You know, they were just friendly, you know what I mean? She never said anything to me, I never saw anything, and they asked the same questions over and over again, fifty ways, and I was, 'I don't have anything to tell you.' I mean, they knew each other, they spoke on the phone, and throughout the years, they stayed in touch. I don't know how frequent or if anything continued. That's just what it was."

That's not the end of the gossip, though. Bastone also reported that on a website TheDirty.com, blogger Nik Richie posted a story charging that Trump had cheated on wife Melania with an "unnamed woman" who was "pretty well known," and at the end of the article, Richie had added, "Mr. Donald Trump, as a man please come forward with honesty. I know you cheated on your wife with ... Stormy Daniels and now the world knows. I will be detailing the events and locations so choose your words wisely." Both Trump and Daniels denied the rumor, with Daniels later stating that she was "not commenting, but the story is bullshit." Nonetheless, Richie's article led to demands that the charges be retracted, not only by Trump and Daniels, but also by attorney Keith Davidson, whom Daniels had allegedly hired to handle the situation.

AVN contacted Daniels to ask whether there was any truth to Bastone's reporting. Her response, via text message, was, "Gotta love ex husbands. Ugh. And sorry but yeah ... no comment."
