VivThomas.com announced the winner of its online Babe of the Year Competition in an awards ceremony in Budapest on Thursday. Nelly, a European adult model and performer, took top honors in the competition.
According to company owner Viv Thomas, over 40,000 people from around the world visited the official Babe of the Year web site (www.babeoftheyear.com) since he launched the search last March. Thomas chose a model every month ("Babe of the Month") that would be entered into the final twelve nominations.
"I wanted to reward our models in some way other than simply paying them lots of cash," said Thomas. "Some of the girls work so closely with us that it sometimes feels like they are a part of our company. So some bright spark in our organization came up with an idea to run a fan-based competition every year, awarding the most popular model with a gold statuette and throwing a big, glamorous party. We sit down together every month and discuss who the most likely girl is going to be, write up an article on her and publish it on our site (www.vivthomas.com). It usually coincides with the release of a new DVD, or sometimes if we find a brand new girl who gets everyone talking."
The voting opened on March 1, 2006 and closed at midnight on March 31, 2007.
Nelly's win was part of an awards night celebration that also featured trophies for Best Newcomer (Eufrat), Best Lesbian Performer (Sophie Moone), Best Hetero Performer (Mya Diamond), Best Acting in a Viv Thomas movie (Nelly), Best Lesbian Scene (Sophie Moone and Zafira) and Best Forum Contributor (Peaches).
