Vivid Remakes The Devil In Miss Jones

Jenna Jameson will play the devil in Vivid Entertainment's remake of Gerard Damiano's The Devil in Miss Jones, reprising the role made famous by John Clemens in the 1972 XXX classic that starts production today.

Vivid Girl Savanna Samson will play Justine Jones, a frustrated spinster who is put in touch with her inner sexual depravity after committing suicide. The devil offers to let her stay on Earth for a while to experience the delights of the flesh before sending Jones to hell.

The star of the original 1972 film, Georgina Spelvin, will be on Vivid’s set with a cameo role as a cleaning lady in the new film in a scene that mirrors a scene in the original film.

“[Spelvin is] an enormously gracious woman and she told us she was delighted that Vivid would be remaking the film with stars of the caliber of Jenna Jameson and Savanna Samson,” AVN Hall of Famer Paul Thomas, director of the remake, said.

Thomas promises that the remake “will be just as ground-breaking in its own way” as the original, which was notable not only for it’s disturbing ending, but also raising the stakes sexually for adult film with a full array of sex scenes including an orgy and a double penetration. Thomas intends to follow the story line of the original for the most part, but has plans to change the ending.

The original Devil in Miss Jones, owned by VCX, still sells approximately 3,000 units a month – more than most adult projects ever sell.

Vivid purchased the rights to remake the classic and produce a new line of sequels from VCX. They had previously purchased the rights to another Gerard Damiano launched adult franchise - Debbie Does Dallas.

VCA previously had the rights to the Miss Jones franchise, producing Devil in Miss Jones 2-6. Gregory Dark directed the Devil in Miss Jones 3 and 4, winning the 1986 AVN Best Film Award for 3.
