It turns out they actually had 352-pages of advice, collected by Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman for How to Have a XXX Sex Life: The Ultimate Vivid Guide, a book that will be published July 20th by the ReganBooks division of HarperCollins.
Vivid Girls Savanna Samson and Sunrise Adams, along with other top Vivid contract exclusives like Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, Mercedez, Kira Kener, Tawny Roberts, and Dasha, provide much of the narrative for the book. They demonstrate why they are at the forefront of an amazing phenomenon: the increasing acceptance and unabashed enjoyment of adult entertainment as a mainstream offering.
How to Have a XXX Sex Life is more than just an instructional manual with a list of positions and techniques; it features a treasure-trove of tips on flirting, suggestions about foreplay, and in-depth discussion of the dos and don’ts of the most exotic sexual acts imaginable. The narrative is tied together by real-life anecdotes experienced by the Vivid Girls.
It all begins with communication, says Jenna Jameson, who has been called the woman who “put the star in porn star.” “It’s really important for a man to communicate with her, to ask what technique she likes,” Jenna tells readers. “There are so many ways to do it, and every girl is different.”
According to Savanna Samson, who won the AVN Award for Best Actress, Film in 2004, “fantasies are healthy…a lot of my fantasies have a lot to do with stuff I have done on camera first that I would like to re-enact and experience in my real life. My mind continues to open and I am so much more free than I ever was.”

Watching adult films is itself an educational experience, according to Mercedez. “You know the guys who are going to be the worst in bed are the ones who have perfect hair and perfect tans,” she writes. “I’d much rather go with a regular guy, especially one who says ‘I watch porn all the time.’ Those are the guys I want to take home. You know they will be open to trying stuff.”
Regan Books will be releasing another porn-related book this summer. How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale, an autobiography by Jenna Jameson with Neil Strauss, will be released August 17.
