Ultra Violet: Inside the Orbit of Violet Myers

This is the cover story of the December issue of AVN magazine. Click here for the digital edition.

LOS ANGELES — When Violet Myers leaves her house these days, there is a good chance someone might recognize her.

“A lot of people say, ‘Hi Violet,’ or ‘Oh my god, you look so familiar,’” Myers says with a laugh. “Even when I go to Walmart.”

No matter where she gets spotted, if someone from Team Violet wants to say hello, she gives him the time.

“I absolutely love my fans,” Myers says. “This is what I wanted to do… Yes, I will take a photo with them even if I look like crap—I still take a picture. I don’t reject anyone who asks for a photo because I’ve met famous people before and they were very mean.

“I don’t ever want to give people that impression of me. These are the people who made my dreams come true… My family keeps me humble.”

It’s that kind of attitude that has endeared Myers to legions of admirers in the past five years as she has built her resumé both on and off camera.

Now an exclusive contract actress for Vixen Media Group, a Fleshlight Girl, a popular YouTube personality and two-time nominee for the 2023 AVN Awards on January 7 in Las Vegas, Myers is wrapping up her banner year in adult entertainment with palpable momentum.

“I’ve learned so much… I feel like I was always determined,” Violet says. “When I look back to how I started until now, I always had the goal of achieving something and of having my fans see my work and appreciate it.

“I really worked hard to get where I’m at and I’m super appreciative to see how everything has happened exactly how I planned it to be.”

And adult’s favorite “thicc waifu” wants other girls to know that anything is possible.

“At one point I didn’t feel like I’d make it this far,” Violet continues. “I want to encourage girls to keep being yourself and you will achieve what you want to do.

“I want to inspire people.”

The 26-year-old native of Los Angeles—who is of Mexican/Turkish descent—tells AVN she’s grateful for her career that began in late 2017 when she was a cam girl on Chaturbate and has evolved into one of the industry’s most distinctive brands. Myers entertains a global fanbase by being authentic, sharing her passion for anime and manga, doing cosplay and approaching her profession as an art-form.

“I grew up being really nerdy. I wasn’t able to fit in,” Violet explains. “When I got into the industry and I was able to show myself, these people felt the same as how I felt. They’re just a bunch of nerdy, horny people that love people and also appreciate and see sex work as art.”

But even more impressive than creating a brand the fans love, the down-to-earth superstar has cultivated a sense of community.

“Her fans can see each other and they know it’s cool to like her,” says Kazumi, a fellow A-list content creator who tells AVN she looks up to Myers. “I really enjoy what shes doing.”

So does Ebony Mystique, the Brazzers contract star who says Myers projects a relatability that fans can feel.

“Her fans know she’s approachable,” Mystique tells AVN. “They’re not scared of her. That’s what I also kind of learned, that when you’re too stuck up or seem too busy, the fans pick up on stuff like that.”

“All I’m about is just treating people the same way you want to be treated,” Myers says.

One of the ways she has connected with the public is through her never-boring YouTube channel, where more than 230,000 subscribers tune in for content such as her first trip to the San Diego Zoo, a Q&A about what she looks for in a guy, cooking taquitos, eating at Disneyland and much more.

In November she did a cosplay and lingerie try-on haul, slipping in and out of anime-inspired outfits and describing her feelings about the various looks in real time.

“What I love about YouTube is I can show my personality more instead of just being my porn star self,” Violet says. “I’m a huge nerd and YouTube gave me that platform to show everyone my weirdness.”

Myers launched her YouTube channel in July 2019 with a vlog about her trip to the Anime Expo.

“I genuinely enjoy making lifestyle vlogs and doing hauls and showing people another side to myself. I have just as much fun as I do on set, the only difference is I don’t have sex,” she adds.

Myers went to college for two years, majoring in clinical psychology due in part to a long-time “fascination” with serial killers.

“I loved true crime and I wanted to get into the brain of those individuals, and going into clinical psychology was more like diagnosing and helping people,” she says.

She started doing hardcore couples shows on Chaturbate with a guy she met at college in November 2017, when she was 21. By spring 2018 she had begun going solo on cam on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for two to three hours at a time.

“I would do a lot of private rooms,” Violet says. “That was kind of how I made my money. I would use the #collegegirl hashtag a lot. I was a college girl and a lot of those people were drawn to my room. My first month I gained 5,000 followers [on Chaturbate]. I used to do squirting shows. My interaction was the same way I am now but with just a smaller fan-base.”

Her cam username was VioletViolence.

“I have an obsession with horror movies,” Myers says, adding that she has been calling herself Violet ever since high school because “I don’t really like my legal name.”

“I was always on social media—Twitter and Tumblr—and I would go under Violet,” she continues. “I chose Myers [for adult] because of Michael Myers—from Halloween, not Austin Powers.”

During Myers’ early days as a solo cam model she broadcasted from her mom’s house.

“My mom knew,” Violet says. “When I had a little ring light on, she knew to just give me my time and my space. My mom is really funny, she bought me my first dildo. She took me to a sex store and bought me a purple little vibrating dildo. I have a different mother… We have a different mother-daughter bond… She has a very sexual humor kind of personality, so that’s probably where I get it from.”

Myers did not hold back when it came to expressing what she wanted before she got into mainstream porn. As a full-time student, her only source of income came from web-camming.

I wanted to grow a bigger fanbase,” Violet recalls. “I found out about porn just doing research about how I can grow my fanbase. I tweeted a bunch of times that I wanted to be a porn star and I got recruited through my first agent.”

Enter Brian Berke, the 21-plus-year industry veteran who founded AMA Modeling in 2004 in South Florida and later co-founded 101 Modeling in LA.

“I had a male talent that lived with me named Brad Hart—and Brad and Violet somehow got in touch with each other,” Berke tells AVN.

Myers wanted to vet Berke and his operation before making a decision—so she got him on a call along with her mom.

“She had such a really cool personality and her mom was very cool,” Berke recalls. “Violet was very sweet and we ended up bringing her in within a couple days.”

Myers says her mom grilled Berke for three hours just to make sure it was legit before she flew to the Sunshine State during her summer break from college in July 2018.

“She’s still supportive of my career to this day,” Myers says of her mom. “I’m very lucky and feel really blessed she’s in my corner.”

Berke remembers how Myers possessed a strong desire to succeed from day one.

“I always said to her, ‘You’re going to be a superstar. Just believe that and stay true to yourself,’” Berke says. “She really created the superstar who is today Violet Myers.

“All I did was just sort of kept her in a straight line and kept her focused and she dedicated herself to being that girl. And it was amazing to sit on the outside and just watch it happen.”

Violet lived at Berke’s model condo in Florida for more than a year before she decided to move back to L.A. in August 2019 and book scenes through OC Modeling. But to this day she remains good friends with Berke.

“I’ve always been there for her through anything and she knows she can call me,” Berke adds. “She knows if she comes to Florida she has a place to stay. I’ve always wanted what was best for her.”

OC Modeling’s Sandra McCarthy agrees, telling AVN that she’s “so proud of Violet’s success in and out of the industry.”

“Shes very grounded and knows what she wants,” McCarthy says. “Violet is unique when it comes to her fans. She is a dedicated diehard for every fan. I love that she takes the time to communicate with each fan through social media—I think thats what makes her so popular. You just love her!

“She’s humble, sweet, energetic, easy to get along with, loving and all-around the perfect package.

“My relationship with her is amazing. I have mad respect for her and Im so lucky to represent her. We both think alike and I love to look out for her and help her build up her brand. This year will be a blast! Looking forward to Violet Myers 2023.”

Myers had never traveled anywhere outside of LA when she first went to Florida, doing a solo scene for Score Group in Fort Lauderdale for her debut scene. Two weeks after she did her solo, she performed her first boy/girl scene for Score Group with Brad Hart, the same guy who had recruited her into porn.

Soon Myers began working for studios such as Reality Kings and BangBros, where she did the notorious BangBus.

“That’s when people were like, ‘Who’s Violet Myers?’” she recalls.

Violet remembers how much fun it was to see her name start to get out there for her porn performances.

“I felt like the coolest person,” she jokes. “I remember telling people I went to school with and showing them on my Snaps, ‘Oh my god, I’m the cover of the website of BangBros!’”

Flash forward to 2022 and 175 credits later Myers has become one of the adult industry’s most bankable stars, a top draw on social media and a hot ticket on OnlyFans, where at press time she ranked in the top .01% of all creators on the billion-dollar platform.

Violet in late November also reached No. 10 in the world on Pornhub’s Most Popular Porn Stars list with more than 312 million video views and 390,000-plus subscribers.

“My fans must really like watching my videos,” Myers says with a smile.

That much has become obvious for anyone paying attention—not the least of which is Mike Moz, the AVN Hall of Fame executive who leads production and casting efforts at Vixen Media Group.

Moz tells AVN he liked how Myers handled her business and had wanted to work with her for a long time, so when she was considering which studio would be best for her first anal scene it made sense to elevate the discussion.

She signed an exclusive deal with VMG in May.

“She is very grassroots with her fans—what you see is what you get with Violet,” Moz says. “She’s very genuine. She’s not a poser. … She really knows her stuff and is not putting on any kind of a front. She’s a pleasure to work with—demanding but in a good way. She knows what she wants and is more than willing to collaborate with the team.

“She’s fantastic.”

Myers says when Vixen made her the contract offer it was a no-brainer.

“I immediately said 'yes,'” she says. “Being a contract star is a whole new image, a different side that my fans really get to see of me when it comes to acting and producing luxurious porn versus everything else I was doing. It was mutually beneficial for Vixen and also for me as well. Just knowing Vixen is so exclusive and signed me, it’s like pinch me, is this real?”

Without question, things got real on the set of Drift, the high-profile feature from Kayden Kross’s Deeper imprint this year in which Myers throws down in a three-way with fellow VMG contract performers Maitland Ward and Anton Harden.

“I loved being on Drift and meeting Maitland,” Myers says. “It was a different side to myself because I never was doing acting in a movie, like a whole movie. This was a production. It gave me a sense of that I can really do everything in porn.”

Myers continues, “Maitland is the best talent I feel like I’ve worked with when it comes to doing a threesome with. She’s intense and she’s so professional and I expected nothing but greatness from that. And being on set with Kayden and seeing how she works inspired me… I appreciate the Vixen family for them even having me to be a part of Drift. It was really an honor.”

Myers says when the lights come on that she transforms.

“My personality is very shy and quiet, but I feel like when I’m on camera, I’m in a no-judgment zone and this sexual beast comes out of me,” Violet says. “All I can think about is making my viewers cum so many times and giving my best performance.”

Myers headlined one of the biggest scenes of the year for Vixen Media Group, an 18-person orgy for BlackedRaw titled “High Gear.”

The scene, which also stars Vixen Angel Vicki Chase, Vanna Bardot, Savannah Bond, Vic Marie and Nicole Doshi taking on Anton Harden, Isiah Maxwell and 10 other deal-closers, received a nomination for Best Foursome/Orgy Scene for the 40th annual AVN Awards.

Myers’ second nomination—for Best Girl/Girl Sex Scene—sees her doing the horizontal mamba with Vicki Chase in a scene called “Deliverables” for VMG’s all-girl studio Slayed.

Then last month she incorporated cosplay into the lead-in to her first career anal scene—with three-time AVN Male Performer of the Year Mick Blue.

Titled “Dressing Up,” the scene debuted on November 20 on VMG’s splashy all-anal imprint, Tushy.

"It was my first time working with Violet and I have to say she’s such a sweetheart,” Blue, the 22-year industry veteran from Austria, tells AVN. “She really wants to have everything perfect. So I think the whole scenario of the scene it seemed like she had a lot of input to it as well to cater to her cosplay fans and all that kind of stuff.

“She waited to do her first anal scene once she knew that she was ready and that definitely made the scene even better when you come with a clear mind and prepared to set. It was a big honor to do her first anal scene.”

Blue continues, “It is quite impressive how committed and professional she is about her brand and everything that she does to make the best possible out of it. I really want to congratulate her for having a great first anal scene out there. She can really be proud of herself about what she achieved and the way how it came out.

“I think it’s beautiful and absolutely deserving for her and also for all the fans she has. And Vixen Media Group made a phenomenal support and platform for us to perform on this level in the scene.”

As Myers ponders the immediate future, she says this is only the beginning.

“I want to continue to be on social media and I’m gonna start my own podcast in 2023,” Violet tells AVN. “I want to continue to do really good on YouTube. I want to fulfill the rest of my Vixen contract and have a lot of new firsts.

“I just want to keep elevating as far as I can in the industry and keep doing better and not looking back. For my personal self, I want to do more meditation, yoga and cooking at home and not eating out as much and stay healthy.

“And I want to open doors for more girls like me, so they can feel like they’re able to do it, too.”
