Video-X-Pix Releasing Vintage Erotica Comps

LAS VEGAS – Video-X-Pix, the New York-based goldmine of classic erotica, has just launched a new compilation line, Vintage Erotica. It’s a star-based series of four to five-scene DVDs dedicated to “The Girls of Yesteryear.” The first five titles are now available.

“We were against the compilation,” said sales manager Jamie Horne, who runs the company with Steven Marowitz, son of its legendary co-founder Arthur Morowitz. He explained that they didn’t want to compete with their own classic feature releases.

But the proliferation of unauthorized collections of often pirated clips from their movies spurred them to come out with something of their own.

“The advantage we have is the quality thing,” Horne said, meaning access to the original film negatives and video dupes.

Some material in the comps has never been seen before, including scenes that were dropped from the films for one reason or another before their original release.

VXP plans to release 150 discs, all told, at the rate of five per month.

Response from distributors, Horne said, has been “phenomenal. We’re selling double the numbers. I think these are going to sell better than our features.”

The first releases are: “Annie Sprinkle: The Original Squirter,” “Danielle: Seductive Blonde,” “Vanessa Del Rio: The Latin Lover,” “Annette Haven: The Elegant Lady” and “Arcadia Lake: Back Door Brunette.”

Upcoming from Video-X-Pix in March is a two disc version of the classic “Maraschino Cherry,” with freshly recorded commentary by its star Gloria Leonard and a cleaned up and brightened new print from the original negative.
