NEW YORK—Pornhub, which announced in March its intent to host its first awards show, has revealed more details about the event.
As previously reported, the event will take place Sept. 6. The ceremony will be hosted by Asa Akira and will take place at the Belasco Hotel in Los Angeles. It also will be broadcast live in HD and virtual reality (VR) on Pornhub.com. The 3D 360-degree broadcast of the show in VR will be provided by HoloFilm Productions.
Pornhub has revealed the list of more than 60 awards and honors that will be presented, with winners determined by “Pornhub site data and insights, as well as fan voting.”
According to a company statement, “Pornhub is proud to celebrate sexual diversity and acceptance with its inclusive nominee list, along with award titles such as the All by Herself Award for top female solo performer, the the Big and Beautiful award for top BBW performer, plus the Pornhub Insights–driven Most Popular Trans Pornstar award.”
Fan-voted awards include Instagrammer of the Year and Fan Fav Channel. In addition to the category awards, VICE Industry Token (VIT) will be on the scene awarding $30,000 worth of prize cryptocurrency throughout the event.

In addition to adult performers serving as presenters, the event will also include performances by comedians and video highlights from the Chaturbate-sponsored Pornhub Games.
Fans equipped with an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift headset can attend the event as an avatar within Oasis, the social VR world available for download at Oasis.game.

As a sponsor of the Pornhub Awards, Vice Industry Token also released its own statements about the event.

The winners in the Female, Male, Gay and Transgendered Performer of the Year categories will each win $7,500 in Vice Industry Tokens.

For the Pornhub Games, VIT also will provide the top three performers with cryptocurrency bonuses. The first-place winner will receive $10,000 worth of tokens, the second-place winner will bet $7,500 worth of tokens and the third-place winner will be awarded $5,000 in VIT.
Vice Industry Token is part of a new movement called the “attention economy.” The company’s blockchain is unique in that users are paid in VIT to consume content and interact with it by liking, sharing and commenting. Users will get paid in VIT to watch videos, and the tokens they earn can be used to watch premium content across VIT’s network. The tokens can also be used toward subscriptions to paid sites.
