Triangle Films Scores Cinesploitation Nod for 'River Rock'

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Shock cinema web outlet gave recognition in its "Best of the Best 2010" list to Triangle Films' multiple AVN Award-nominated all-girl opus River Rock Women's Prison, naming it the year's Best Contemporary "Women in Prison" Flick.

Having received an Editor's Choice review a year ago from AVN, River Rock went on to pick up nominations in the current AVN Awards race—culminating in this Saturday's gala ceremony at the Pearl Theater inside Las Vegas' Palms Casino Resort—for Best All-Girl Couples Scene (Melissa Monet & Justine Joli), Best Editing, Best Supporting Actress (Melissa Monet) and Most Outrageous Sex Scene. The movie also won trophies for Hottest Dyke Film and Hottest Kink Film at last April's Feminist Porn Awards from Toronto-based retailer Good for Her.

Calling these accolades "recognition beyond belief," River Rock directer and Triangle owner Kathryn Annelle told AVN, "Everything we do at Triangle Films is a team effort. The entire team—Shoosh (my lovely wife and producer), Octavio 'Winkytiki' (set design and editing), Scarlett Von Cutter (camera and editing), Victor 'Lightworship' (set photography) and of course the women of River Rock—put so much work and effort into this project, I can't say enough about any of them. They're like family, and the recognition and exposure for the women that give so much means the world to us."

Added Shoosh, "We're happy to be acknowledged for the effort of the whole crew." Pertaining specifically to the Cinesploitation honor, she gushed, "We were very surprised and at the same time very excited. It certainly made our New Year's Eve ... we found out at like 3 in the afternoon, and we just partied!"

Triangle's other major 2010 release, Justine Joli Lost, which also garnered an AVN Editor's Choice, is in contention, itself, for the Best All-Girl Release trophy at Saturday's ceremony.
