To GrammaCash We Go: Gramma's Mature Porn Empire

Her nickname is Gramma. "What's that make you think of?" she quips.

If you said frequent goodies, trust, warmth, care, and hardcore sex, you've got yourself a pretty accurate picture of Nancy.

"Warm fuzzies! Everybody trusts Gramma, and I've stood behind that."

Nancy, the "Gramma" behind GrammaCash (www.grammacash.com), has been developing Websites since late 1996, capitalizing on the "mature" niche.

"My first pay site with mature women was MaturePorn.com." GrammaCash was Nancy's first affiliate program, "1998 is when I started [it]; MaturePorn went up in '97." Now, Nancy is incorporated, under NM Internet Inc., with several sites making up her niche empire.

Her team consists of Webmaster Jon, who executes "all the fabulous graphics work"; Trish in customer service; and Mr Popup, programmer and project manager.

"I started out with a pre-site; that was Grammas.com," she says. Now featuring three thumbnail galleries updated monthly (mature amateur, mature, and 30ish); a weekly pics page with 20 new pics each week, a new "Pic of the Day," chat, chatter profiles, stories, personals, humor, and some offshoot niche sites, Grammas.com is looking to add movies.

"At one point in time, I was getting 100, 120,000 hits a day. It was just unreal," Nancy remembers. She thinks it's because "There weren't so many people out there. We got a listing on Yahoo!... how many search engines were there?" Not to mention, how many "older women" sites?

Grammas.com was free at that time, making revenue from advertising.

"My very first banner spot was sold, I think in Aug. '97, to Insite. They paid around $500 for the top banner spot on three pages. And I was scared to death to ask them for that much!" Nancy laughs. "From that we went to the pay site."

When it's suggested she's come a long way, baby, she says, "Oh, buddy!" What got her here, Nancy feels, is "personal attention. I did updates each day on Grammas.com; I got a lot of customer loyalty that still holds today. I have some members from 1998.

"They can depend on me to update when I say I'm going to. I keep it very strictly niched. They're not going to see transsexual galleries... it's strictly mature content, and I'll give them a little bit of the rest of that stuff to keep things interesting."

She agrees that current free sites and what she terms the "TGP monkeys" are killing a lot of adult Internet concerns. "I use the TGPs myself, but I use the same pictures over and over, and they're crummy. My own exclusive stuff, they're not going to find that. I spend a couple of hours everyday checking [to keep a handle on content theft] - we've got our own TGP. I check all these galleries that people submit, and I do find people who steal my pictures."

Gramma's advice to those starting up niche sites is to "Find something you know something about. I am an older woman. I learn more and more each year, huh?

"At one time, I had 14 amateur women working for me on Webcams for matureporn.com and WifeLand.com. That was the exclusive stuff that kept people coming back. Unfortunately, they were costing me a lot, and when the slow-down hit last year, I had to let them go, a few at a time."

As to why there was a comparative time lapse in this drop-off for her sites, Nancy thinks that "it was about then that everybody else decided, 'Hmm, niches! Yeah, we need to have niches!' Every Tom, Dick and Harry put up 'niche' sites. So people like me, I just have to make mine better than theirs.

"I'm not a big company, and between myself and Trish, we take care of people immediately when they have a problem. I know all these mature models, and I know a lot about them. I can relay this [to customers] when they ask questions."

Any occupational hazards? "One of the favorites has been dead for about five years."

Gramma has several photographers working for her. One, in Europe, has an exclusive fan site for Torrie. (Torrie has come to public attention as the poster gal for mature love ["She's so classy - an English woman," offers Nancy], being "The World's Oldest Porn Star" title-holder.)

In addition, Nancy and Brent Richards from MMOR Research have formed a partnership to provide online sales of MMOR's patented formula, "Semenex," designed to make semen taste yummy (www.semenexonline.com). "He developed the product, and I put together the site and the Webmaster program. We opened in February 2002."

In the works for Nancy are Webmaster lease products. "They came as a result of having my own exclusive content. I decided since I couldn't find content that I wanted for my pay sites, I was going to have to produce it myself. That's how I came up with Vintage magazine (www.readvintage.com). It's been online since Nov. '98, and always features a real mature woman on the Web, who has her Website on our cover.

"I have a photo gallery and three lease magazines that Webmasters pay me each month to use, to incorporate into their sites. I kept it all exclusive to myself. And when a Webmaster pays me to have Vintage magazine on their site, they get this month's issue, and every issue back to Nov. '98."

She's also working on a free fetish e-zine plug-in. "I'll have some upsells and stuff in it.

"I put up a site called Fit and Well (www.fitandwell.com), strictly non-adult, all health-related articles. Fit and Well's going to be another free plug-in for Webmasters, so they can add 'literary value' to their pay sites."

When asked if any fundies-type detractors have lambasted her for defiling the status quo Gramma image, Nancy says that while she's not received any negative comments specific to this, she's concerned herself with the exploitation of women and seniors. "I do keep that in mind, all the time. So far we've been really lucky with all the models that we've used. They're really horny old women."
