The Countdown to 'Octopussy A XXX Parody 3D'

In the April edition of AVN, our article on upcoming adult 3D movies reported that Hustler and Adam & Eve would be coming to market this summer and fall with new 3D products and gave the impression that New Sensations, with its James Bond parody Octopussy A XXX Parody 3D, would be competing with those releases. But in fact, the New Sensations' feature will hit the market several months before any other straight adult 3D feature. AVN regrets the placement of the Octopussy information toward the end of the print edition article and its lack of mention in our headline. So for those who may have missed our breaking news on this mainstream feature film parody, we present the latest info on this important upcoming adult release.

PORN VALLEY—It's safe to say that Octopussy was no one's favorite James Bond movie. Its star, Roger Moore, was 54 when it was filmed—not exactly a spring chicken by action movie standards—and the franchise itself was suffering from its producers' misguided attempts to incorporate too much "style" and pop culture into a formerly simple spy vs. maniacal villain drama. Not even the appearance of beauties like Maud Adams (the Swedish actress who'd played a key role in a prior Bond film, The Man With the Golden Gun) and Kristina Wayborn, the blonde beauty who never scored a better role than as Adams' second-in-command, could rescue the film. And the use of the plot gimmick of ornate and valuable Faberge eggs, then a minor news item, as well as an over-the-hill Louis Jourdan as the primary villain, not to mention the injection, to no good effect, of tennis pro Vijay Amitraj into the plot, guaranteed that Octopussy would always remain second rate.

On the other hand, all of those missteps merely set the stage for the possibility of a really good XXX parody of the film, and now New Sensations, teaming with Funky Monkey Media, has delivered—and it's in 3D!

"The movie starts off with James Bone (Danny Mountain) waking up with Priya Rai in his bed, and 009 comes in and drops the Faberge egg in his hand, and whispers only one word: 'Octopussy,'" director Jay Lalls of Funky Monkey Media told AVN. "James then calls up the Prime Minister and fills him in on 009's death and his cryptic last word. After Priya Rai runs a bath and helps James calm down a little bit, he goes on his way ...  to a poker tournament that ironically that is being sponsored by Octopussy. But first, he has to get a tuxedo from Bella Buttons (Aletta Ocean), who fits him for the tux and fucks him silly. But afterwards, as they hug, she discreetly steals the Faberge egg out of his pocket. Of course, James knows this and knows that her doing this will lead him closer to this Octopussy character."

"That evening, he attends the poker tournament and as he walks in, is greeted by Jayden Cole, who plays the poker hostess and gives him his chips," Lalls continued. "He sits down at the poker table with various characters including Francesca Flush (Phoenix Marie), who is hosting the tournament, and in the end becomes the final player left in the game besides James. James ends up winning the tournament, and as promised receives the Faberge egg as his prize. Francesca takes him into a private room, screws him and then gives him the egg. Back home, James then pulls up the driveway and sees the door wide open. He gets out of his car, runs up the stairs, runs into his bedroom and sees two characters pawing through all of his stuff, one being Octopussy (Audrey Bitoni) and the other her assistant (Dylan Riley). They negotiate about the egg, and James tells her, 'Why don't you put on a show for me and maybe you'll get this egg back?' The girls do a really sexy girl/girl scene, and when they're done, James gives them back their egg. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, so let me just say, they come to a mutual understanding at the end."

"I just want to add, Danny Mountain's acting as James Bone was incredible. It was a pleasure to work with him, and I will be doing other work with him in the future."

But the plot and the acting are only half the story here. The entire movie was shot using a 3D camera rig of Lalls' invention, in high definition 1080p, guaranteeing an excellent quality image for those using HD TVs.

"We'll be offering a boxed set containing both a 2D version and an anaglyph [red/blue] 3D version," Lalls said. "Two pairs of glasses will be included with the DVD. From there, the polarized will be released at a later date, and it is in HD."

Why the delay in releasing a polarized version?

"We're releasing it in anaglyph since the mass audience right now doesn't have 3D TVs," Lalls explained. "The 3D TVs that Samsung just dropped, they're not in mass abundance the way that it would be beneficial to release this in polarized yet, even though they sold out of all of their 3D sets within a week. For media, if they want to request one, it's fine; we'll supply one, but we are going to re-release this in polarized in upcoming months. It really depends on how quickly the mass audience begins purchasing these TVs."

"This is a  very pivotal time in the adult business," Lalls reflected. "With the free tube sites and things of that nature cutting into profits, everybody's looking to do something revolutionary and to be the pioneer. New Sensations is the parody king, and this is an amazing fit for us, because me partnering up with them and heading their 3D division, it's a situation where we are looking to make New Sensations and Funky Monkey Movies the benchmark for all 3D adult films to follow. The level of the 3D in this is Avatar-worthy. Everyone that I've shown this to in mainstream and adult—even other producers of adult 3D movies—has told me that this is the best 3D adult film they have ever seen. There is no drifting in this. Even the 3D trailer on Octopussy3D.com is like watching 2D because everything is so aligned perfectly. It's not like some other, run-of-the-mill 3D where you're going to get headaches and people complain and things like that. This is the crème de la crème of 3D."

But Octopussy is just the start of what Lalls and New Sensations have planned over the coming year.

"I look to release something in the range of six titles before the end of the year," Lalls told AVN. "Funky Monkey Movies and Jay Lalls, the director, have partnered up with New Sensations to head their 3D department, and we're very excited about this opportunity and looking forward to the future, not only with New Sensations, but with the adult entertainment business, due to the fact that this is a revolutionary and pivotal time in this business. This is what the adult entertainment business needs: Something new, cutting edge, fun, interactive and at the same time a whole different M.O. that the adult entertainment business is not used to. Plus something you can't easily pirate."

"I'm very grateful to Scott and the whole team over there," he added. "They've been nothing but supportive to me. They're an amazing company and I can't say enough good things about them. We want to make New Sensations the benchmark, and the name synonymous with 3D porn, because everybody else is looking to jump on this, but the quality that we will be able to produce is unparalleled to anybody else. I know the other rigs, I know the other people involved, I know what they're doing, and I know the quality of our 3D. This is the first modern polarized adult 3D movie, and it's coming out in HD. I worked with a lot of mainstream tech guys on this project, who helped bring me up to par on the latest technology, and these guys said there's no one in adult that has used this technology. This is also iPod friendly; iPhone, iPod—anything 'i'; it's 'i' friendly."

Lalls expects to have another 3D title ready for release in May, but declined to provide any details about it other than to say that its technical qualities will be at least as good as Octopussy's.
