HOUSTON—The TEXXXAS fan expo, which will make its debut Aug. 17, has relocated to the Holiday Inn Southwest.
The hotel is located at 11160 Southwest Freeway in Houston—10 miles from downtown Houston and five miles from the Galleria area.
The three-day event, officially called TEXXXAS The Show, will feature more than 30 adult film stars.
The show had to be moved to a different venue after the Hilton Houston pulled out of its contract to host last week without warning. John Gray, organizer and president of TEXXXAS The Show, said he disagreed with the hotel's actions but assured the new location wouldn't affect the quality of the conference.
The National Center on Sexual Exploitation was quick to praise the Hilton's decision to cancel, releasing a statement commending the hotel "for its commitment to protecting human dignity and preventing sexual exploitation."
Gray told AVN Monday, "I'm pleased to announce our new venue at a brand new Holiday Inn only five minutes away from the original one.
"In fact I am happy to announce a reduced fan rate for our fans at my expense and as Bob Marley sang, 'everything is going to be all right.'"
He added, "I would like to ask my former venue and the coalition one question: are they going to try to urge all hotels to cancel the Super Bowl next year? That event has historical record of bringing more sex trafficking and prostitution to their host city than any other event."
