LOS ANGELES—Every year, Team Wicked, led by Wicked Pictures contract star Jessica Drake, invites a number of adult industry members and others to participate in AIDS Walk LA. This year, the team, which made itself known virtually due to the pandemic, raised more than $12,000 for the cause.
The annual event, which was held online this year, made the fundraiser accessible to everyone around the world. Team Wicked, which included adult stars Tasha Reign and Asa Akira, made the top ten for fundraising, putting it among such multi-million dollar mainstream companies as Disney and Starbucks. Team Wicked exceeded its previously announced goal by 22%, marking another successful year in raising awareness and funds for the important cause.
“I’m so proud of Team Wicked and grateful to everyone who participated this year,” said Jessica Drake. “The pandemic has put so much into perspective. Charity and outreach are vital, and to see people come together to raise awareness about AIDS and HIV within our community means the world to me. AIDS Walk is something I look forward to every year and I am touched by both the participation and the fundraising results. Thank you to Ken and everyone at AIDS Walk and APLA for giving our team so much encouragement and support. Seeing the team on the ABC7 special was so exciting, and definitely motivated us. I am also grateful as always to everyone at Wicked for their support.”
This year, Team Wicked put its efforts behind the "Support Walk", which raises awareness and funds for critical programs benefiting older adults living with HIV, including nutritious meals, counseling, and housing. The "Support Walk," also provides resources and funding for AIDS Walk LA’s transgender support programs and women’s wellness programs which helps the community, regardless of HIV status.
Jessica Drake and Team Wicked have made AIDS Walk LA an annual tradition, raising a total of more than $140,000 for AIDS and HIV research, treatment, and prevention. Participating in this event and shining a spotlight on this cause which has affected the world is the mission of Team Wicked.
