SWAID Clothing Swap Set for April 2 In Vegas

LOS ANGELESSWAID Collective has announced that the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which provides harm reduction supplies, microgrants, and testing subsidies to sex workers in need, will be hosting a Clothing Swap at a private location in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 2nd.

The SWAID Clothing Swap is a 100% free event for Vegas sex workers, as well as sex workers from nearby communities. Participants can exchange clothing, shoes, toys, home goods and more. The Swaps have been hosted since 2016, with each new event growing in participation.

The SWAID Clothing Swap will also feature a new raffle drawing every hour, with various prizes donated by event sponsors. All attendees will receive a free raffle ticket at the start and will also have opportunities to secure additional tickets on site by making charitable donations to SWAID.

Harm reduction supplies will also be handed out as needed.

“The past Clothing Swaps in Vegas were some of my first introductions to the Vegas sex work community,” said Sydney Screams, an events and fundraising volunteer for SWAID. “I’ve met some of my closest friends and colleagues at the Swaps, and now I want to pay that forward. Community is vital for safety and sanity, especially for marginalized sex workers. I look forward to welcoming more of the Vegas and drive-in communities to the next SWAID Clothing Swap.”

Sponsors already signed on to support the event include Mr. Hankey’s Toys, Velvet Alley, RealDoll, Peepshow Toys, Nikki Sequoia of No Filter Fotos, PS: Group, System JO, Elevated X, QueerCrush, Metiza Makes, CLEAR and Uberrime.

“It’s exciting getting to put my corporate experience to good use helping SWAID,” Sydney added. “With the help of some amazing sponsors, I’m working to make our next Swap, and future Swaps, bigger and better than ever. We welcome sex workers of all shapes, sizes, genders, followings, and races to attend to mix & mingle, snag some cute clothes, and win some cool prizes during the raffles.”

Additional sponsor opportunities are available for companies and individuals interested in supporting the sex worker community. Inquiring parties can reach out to Sydney at [email protected].
