CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Writer/director Jacky St. James returns to New Sensations to reignite the studio's long dormant New Sensations Romance imprint with new feature Love in the Digital Age, due out September 11.
The first release under the Romance banner since 2014's multiple AVN Award-winning Second Chances, and featuring cinematography by that movie's co-director Eddie Powell, Love in the Digital Age stars Gia Paige as Sara, an internet-obsessed millennial who gives up her smart phone on a dare from best friend Lizzie (2016 Penthouse Pet of the Year Kenna James), only to find love out in the real world with Grif, played by Logan Pierce. The movie co-stars Mona Wales, Tyler Nixon, Marcus London and Small Hands.
"There has been such a drastic departure from romance in the last few years, I feel like finally I am the rebel," St. James said. "It was wonderful doing something couples friendly with strong female protagonists and a message many of us can likely learn from."
She added, "I have said before, great acting performances aren't always about emoting, crying and screaming. Sometimes the best acting is in the subtleties and nuances. Every single performer in this film brings their A game and I am beyond proud of everything my team and I accomplished. This film ranks as one of the best in my career."
