Spike.com Orders Full Season of 'PG Porn'

HOLLYWOOD — Spike.com has ordered 11 new installments of "PG Porn," the satirical webisodic series co-created by mainstream writer/director James Gunn.

Each edition of "PG Porn" casts a mainstream actor opposite an adult performer in a stock porn scenario that, due to one farcical upset or another, never comes to full fruition. The pilot "Nailing Your Wife" has racked up 1.6 million views since its October debut.

In "Nailing Your Wife," actor Nathan Fillion of "Desperate Housewives" plays a construction worker whose near-blowjob from Aria Giovanni gets horrifically cut short when his nail-gun accidentally discharges into her skull.

"I always think of 'PG Porn' as being similar to 'Peanuts,'" Gunn said in an exclusive interview with AVN. "You want that poor kid to kick that football, but he just never, ever gets to do it. In 'PG Porn,' you want them to fuck, but it's never gonna happen. Maybe that's why porn films are so rarely funny — they're just too damn satisfying. How can you laugh at the foibles of human nature when these guys are having great sex with hot chicks?"

Gunn conceived and co-wrote "PG Porn" with his brothers, Brian and Sean. He cast the porn stars through My Space with help from Belladonna, who introduced him to other adult performers interested in doing the show.

"Almost every girl I've talked to has wanted to do it," Gunn told AVN. "They understand that it's great advertising for them, opening them up to a whole new audience."

Premiering today, the episode "Roadside Ass-sistance" stars Gunn opposite Sasha Grey. Jenna Haze and Belladonna have also shot for the series, with mainstream actors Craig Robinson ("The Office"), Jerry O'Connell and Penn Jillette.

While the web-only format has not yet reached its full potential, Gunn sees original online content as the future of the entertainment industry.

"Movies and TV are, in many ways, dying mediums," he said. "What exactly new media is is just now being formed — it's exciting to be at the beginning of an art form instead of at the end."
