JOHANNESBURG, S.A.—The creators of a South African website says they will shortly release the first-ever locally produced porn flick featuring an all-black cast of performers.
Mapona Vol. 1 is scheduled to street on DVD Sept. 30, said Tau Morena, one of the creators of local website Sondeza.com. Morena told a local news outlet the project was in direct response to the expressed desires of the website’s 30,000 members.
“The DVD was brought about by lack of content in terms of adult entertainment movies,” he said. Performers, he added, were all local and auditioned through the website. All were pre-screened for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, he added, and the men were required to use condoms. They also were all paid, even though they were willing to perform for free.
In operation since 2008, Sondeza.com was started by college friends who wanted a place to share sexual exploits, and eventually grew to encompass a membership base that extends far beyond South Africa to include members in the United Kingdom and United States.
Mapona Vol. 1 was not cheap to produce, said Morena, who added the movie was “shot in a manner which gives the viewer an opportunity to feel as if they are part of the action.”
For those in the vicinity, there also will be a launch party celebrating the release of the movie Sept. 30 at Bar 9 in Midrand.
