The Associated Press reports that a play entitled "251," based on the life of infamous porn starlet Annabel Chong, opened Thursday in her homeland of Singapore.
The title of the play refers to Chong's stunt of taking on 251 men in the highly sensationalized 1995 sex tape The World's Biggest Gangbang from Fantastic Pictures. The gang bang video also served as the focal point of the 1999 documentary, Sex: The Annabel Chong Story, nominated that year for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
According to the story, the play's opening signifies a loosening of the tight censorship regulations imposed in Singapore, where pornography is strictly prohibited, although films containing nudity have been permitted to run in increasing numbers recently.
