SAN FRANCISCO—Shooting has started on Chemistry Eases the Pain, the latest movie from Shine Louise Houston and Pink & White Productions.
The movie is the second successfully crowdfunded by Houston. The first was Snapshot.
“Today was our first day and we're off to a great start,” Pink & White Productions’ Jiz Lee wrote in an email update to backers of the project.“Thanks to all our backers for coming together to make our film a reality!
“Please welcome the talented Logan Pierce to our cast, playing the part of Matt, our lead’s love interest,” Lee continued.
The update also included images form the first day, and encouraged fans and backers to follow progress on Instagram stories.
Pierce joins Lotus Lain, who stars as Frankie, a staunchly lesbian-identified college student who finds herself attracted to straight male classmate Matt.
Nina Hartley stars as Frankie’s mother, and additional stars include Mona Wales, Emperatrix, Valentine, Nicki Honey, and a cameo by non-binary rocker Jack Strano of Sugar High Glitter City fame.
The campaign for Chemistry Eases the Pain is still allowing donations, all of which will benefit the cast and crew.
