Porn has long been on the forefront when it comes to adoption of technological innovations, from VHS tapes, to the internet, to virtual reality. Now, according to reports in the British press, the porn studio Private has carried on the high-tech tradition, shooting what is being called the first sex robot porn film.
In fact, the producers traveled all the way to Barcelona, Spain, to film the 28-minute sequence at Lumidolls, advertised as the first brothel to use lifelike sex dolls and sex robots in lieu of human sex workers.
"The origin of the word 'pornography' is from ancient Greece. Literally it means writings (graphia) about ‘pornos’ or female indentured servants,” Private studio development exec Patrick Garcia told the Daily Star newspaper. "Given that robots are fulfilling the roles of unpaid labour it’s not a big leap to imagine their relevance to porn.”
Though media commentators have opined that the supposedly increasing popularity of sex robots could have a damaging effect on human capability for intimacy or might lead to the pursuit of dangerous fantasies (see this story on AVN.com), Garcia described his studio’s new sex robot porn as “tongue-in-cheek” and “fun to do.”
The film’s human star is Sofia Curly, a Belarussian-born performer (aka Sofya Curly) whose most recent credits, per her Internet Adult Film Database entry, include Bitches Abroad and Wicked Pictures’ Anal Auditions.
Her flesh-and-blood co-star is Dorian del Isla, who in the plot of the film is supposed to be married to Curly—but the relationship runs into trouble when she inadvertently walks in on him engaged in sex with one of the Lumidolls lifelike robots. Not too surprisingly, their relationship issues are quickly smoothed over as they break into a human-on-human-on-robot threesome.
“Working with the doll was like seeing the future,” said Curly. “This is going to be a big thing."
“The cast had a blast,” Garcia added, according to The Sun newspaper.
The Lumidolls brothel has been successful enough to spawn a chain, with Lumidolls establishments opening in Moscow, Russia and soon in Turin, Italy.
