LOS ANGELES — One of the fastest rising adult stars in Europe used to walk an hour to work because she couldn't afford a car.
Scarlett Jones reveals she was studying law at a university in England when she started stripping at the Spearmint Rhino in Sheffield. Rather than spend money on a taxi, she commuted to the fully nude gentlemen’s club the old-fashioned way—on foot.
“Sometimes I’d see my classmates along on the way and they would ask me, ‘Where are you going?’” Jones, who at the time had just turned 19, tells AVN. “And I’d say, ‘just the gym.’
“I had a bag with my stripper heels and my outfits in it. I never told anybody about it because it would impact my degree. It was my secret, dirty hobby.”
There’s nothing secret about what Jones is up to now.
Not with her growing international profile thanks in part to her breakout performances for Vixen Media Group this year with many more on the way. Jones already has headlined scenes for Vixen, Blacked Raw and Tushy in 2022, beefing up a resume that also includes head-turning outings for Brazzers, VivThomas, Virtual Taboo, PornBox, Reality Kings and Private.
The classy stunner says sometimes looks can be deceiving.
“I think my performing style changes depending on the scene, actually,” Jones admits. “I’m kind of dirty, but I look kind of elegant. My performance style is definitely quite slutty. I like to swear. I like to do more dirty talking.”
Without question, Jones is doing something right. She recently returned from another Vixen Media Group-sponsored trip to an exotic locale in Alicante, Spain, where she got down with heavy-packing Chris Diamond for Tushy under the direction of Julia Grandi.
“I’m gonna be brutally honest, his penis was very big,” Jones says. “But I got into it and he was a great guy to work with. We had great chemistry. The first time I saw him naked I was taken aback and a bit nervous. My fans sent me some pictures of his penis they found on Twitter but in real life it was a bigger than I anticipated.”
Jones says she loves working for VMG, where she has been the centerpiece for several recent excursions.
“They really take care of you and treat you like a princess,” she says. “They’re just like a family to me.”
Sixteen-year industry veteran Julia Grandi, who is from St. Petersburg, Russia and now based in Budapest, says Jones always is a joy to have on her set.
“We have been working with Scarlett Jones several times for VMG and she is in JulModels agency as well,” Grandi tells AVN. “Once she reached us herself and since that time we are together. Easy-going and hard-working—her two major characteristics I would say.
“Scarlett seems to us very responsible and creative person with huge potential, who is taking care of scripts. She always shows professional acting on sets. She easily gets emotional connection with any performer and deeply gets into the role.
“Also she is very transparent and nice person in real. We definitely consider her as a family and very happy to have her with us.”
Italian stud Christian Clay would know. He did the honors in Jones’ first anal scene for Tushy that saw them cavorting in Tuscany in a scene called “Scandalous.”
“Yes I think was her first anal scene like 90 percent of the girls I work with for Tushy. I’m always the lucky guy to be the first,” Clay, who started his porn career in 2001, tells AVN. “She is very nice, very professional. It was a pleasure to work with her.
"It was a very nice production. I think was the first time in Italy. Everything was perfect.”
Danny D. likes what he sees with Jones, too. The Brazzers bad boy, who made his porn debut in 2007, has tangled with her twice—the first time in “Curious Babysitter Gets Fucked Hard” that hit ZZ last July, and then this past spring in “Cheating With the Cheater.”
“Scarlett Jones is a pleasure to work with, incredibly professional and a true gem for the industry!” Danny tells AVN. “She enjoys creating quality scenes and it really shows with her performing!”
Jones notes her first scene with D. was one of her first in professional porn, calling him “great to work with.”
“Brazzers is always a great company,” she adds. “I’m very happy to work with them. I’ve done a lot with Reality Kings, too. They have nine unreleased scenes of me. They’re actually filming me again in July in Budapest.”
She says Danny D.’s reputation precedes him.
“He has a reputation in the U.K. as having a very large appendage, but it’s not until you see it in real life that you can really comprehend the size,” Jones says.
The former presenter on Babestation in the U.K. tells AVN she never felt satisfied with her career when she worked in the legal profession.
“I felt like I was wearing a mask and pretending to be someone I wasn’t,” she recalls.
But when she was dancing at the Spearmint Rhino, where she saved the money she made in between attending classes, writing papers and taking exams, “I was really happy.”
“I don’t know, it just felt right to me,” Jones says. “I’ve always been a bit of an exhibitionist naturally. It just felt like where I was meant to be.”
Scarlett gravitated toward the study of law because “I wanted a job where I’d be respected and one that was also just to kind of help people.”
“But I started to realize as a lawyer sometimes you have to lie for people and I didn’t like that aspect of it,” she says. “I do strangely genuinely believe I’m helping people and making a big difference in their lives now.”
It was after graduation that Jones began appearing as a presenter on Babestation, a naughty TV channel in England, where she chatted with viewers who could call in and talk with her while watching her live, wearing only sexy lingerie—or less.
“I stayed there until I started in the adult film industry—for about two or three years doing the night shift,” says Jones, who worked at the studio in Milton Keynes, says. “It paid OK. It wasn’t amazing, but for me, my fans are what kept me going. And they were so loyal. I would speak to the same guys every night and have queues of 30 people waiting to speak to me. It was a nice environment. I had OnlyFans as well alongside that.”
She adds, “I always probably knew I would end up doing adult film, but a lot of people told me not to. They said, ‘Don’t do it. It’s seedy and disgusting.’’
But Scarlett wanted to find out for herself, so she connected with JulModels’ Grandi, who organized a trip to Budapest in December 2020 for her first professional scenes.
“I only had two partners before I did porn, so I felt very inexperienced,” Jones confesses. “It was always something I wanted to do and had been interested in.”
Jones, who is originally from Nottingham, tells AVN she came “from a poor a background.” Those humble beginnings are part of the reason why she had no problem with making the brisk walk to the club during the early days.
“For me 10 pounds for a taxi was a lot of money,” says Jones, who bought her first house when she was 21. “My parents didn’t support me financially.”
Being able to own a home at such a young age gave her a sense of accomplishment.
“I saved up a long time to do that,” she says. “It’s amazing for me. It’s just something to be proud of. Just the freedom it gives you is incredible. I owe a lot of it to my fans, they’ve really changed my life. I’m so grateful and so happy that I entered the business.”
And the opportunities keep coming for Jones, who is featured in Episode 2 of the nationally televised mainstream documentary series “Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich” on Britain’s ITV2. The episode debuted on July 12.
The former “Love Island” star Attwood hosts the doc, giving viewers an inside look at various areas of sex work, telling the stories of OnlyFans creators, porn stars, cam girls, and 'sugar babies.’
Jones says her episode includes behind-the-scenes footage of her on set with Brazzers, at the nail salon and at home.
She also appears in an upcoming episode of the “Game of Thrones” prequel “House of the Dragon” in a simulated sex scene.
“I’m just excited to take my career to the next level,” Jones tells AVN. “I’m excited for my new releases for Vixen and Blacked and to see where the year takes me. I’m hoping to come to the AVNs [in Las Vegas] in January. I would love to be nominated for something.”
