Saya Song Dies at Michigan Home

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Adult performer Saya Song, who got their start in the business in 2015 and amassed upwards of 180 credits during their career, died last Monday evening at their home in Michigan, according to a local obituary. They were 37.

The cause of Song's death remains undisclosed, however a number of friends have indicated on social media as the news broke today that they took their own life. Several were alarmed the day of their death, September 4, by the final post on their X account, which read, "Nathan called the cops on me. So if I die, it's his fault."  A representative from the medical examiner's office in Song's home county told AVN Saturday that the cause of death is "still pending" and that lab results which will determine such could take several months to come back.

Born in Seoul, Korea, Song played the piano as a youth and was a photography enthusiast. They also had a great love of animals, and friends are encouraged to donate to Michigan animal shelters in their memory. Song is survived by their father and one sister.

While Song dipped in and out of studio adult work over the course of their career, one highlight came in 2017, when AVN Hall of Fame director Jonni Darkko made them the center of the star showcase Saya Song's Anal Initiations. At the time, Song told AVN, "I like the professional porn world the most because I’ve met so many people that I can work with. It gives me a lot more opportunity to make my own content. It’s just a lot of freedom and meeting great people.”
