Rumor of John Edwards Sex Tape Surfaces

NEW YORK — One-time presidential candidate and former Sen. John Edwards reportedly recorded a sex tape with his ex-mistress, Rielle Hunter.

According to the New York Daily News, former Edwards aide Andrew Young makes the claim in a proposal for a new tell-all book to be published by St. Martin's Press.

Young also refutes a public statement last year that he was the father of Hunter's baby daughter and now claims he took the fall for Edwards, who actually fathered the child—a charge Edwards has denied.

Young backed Edwards' political aspirations to the point of having a then-pregnant Hunter come live in his home with his wife and three children. Following the birth, he moved his family to California.

Young claims he discovered the videotape while unpacking moving boxes. Where it was shot, who shot it and how Young came to possess it is still unknown.

Young also alleges that Hunter told him she and Edwards discussed getting married should his wife, Elizabeth, battling cancer, pass away. Young's book proposal also said Elizabeth Edwards blames him in part for her husband’s affair because he helped keep it a secret; she also supposedly accused him of stealing her son Wade’s baseball card collection.

No comments have been issued on the sex tape claim by Young, his agent or John and Elizabeth Edwards.
