Robbin Banx: From Page 3 to Playboy to Porn

LOS ANGELES—At the AVN office, editorial staffers often interview newbie performers who’ve come to make a name in Porn Valley. But few of them have as much back story as Robbin Banx.

This website rarely reveals the given names of the Porn Valley’s finest, but in the case of Robbin Banx, she was already outed by other media entities—and she’s OK with that. Back in England, under her own name, the busty blonde became well-known as a Page 3 girl—one of the glamour models who appear topless on the third page of Britain’s Sun daily newspaper. And earlier this year, the Sun once again pushed Banx into the spotlight after publishing her assertions that starting in December 2018, the famed baseball star Alex Rodriguez had been peppering her with texts that started flirtatious and then turned salacious.

Why did it matter? Because shortly after she fell out of touch with the power hitter, he hooked up with American superstar Jennifer Lopez. And on March 9, A-Rod proposed to J-Lo. “J-Lo needs to wake up,” Banx told the Sun. “I feel bad for her and I don’t think it’s right.”

Once that story hit, it went viral—and soon it came out that the former Page 3 girl had shown all her assets on porn megasite Brazzers.com. Her scene with adult stud Keiran Lee was a test run as she weighed whether to start a career in adult.

“I didn’t talk about it,” Banx said. “The Daily Mail Online found out. Somewhere online it says my alter ego is Robbin Banx, and they did a big writeup on it. So it’s out of the bag now, and that’s another big reason why i said, fuck it, I’m all in. … Now it’s been seen all over the world, I need to strike while the iron was hot.”

As she prepares to strike, Banx has set up a Twitter account for her new persona and has signed up with adult talent agency OC Modeling.

It’s the culmination of a long career that began with a boob job and took Banx from Page 3 notoriety to the Playboy Mansion.

“I’ve got it down to a fine science when I’m explaining my life bio,” Banx said. “Real quick, I saved up my welfare money when I was young, from being a single parent, and I bought myself some implants and I was featured on Page 3.”

After the Page 3 photos, Banx said, “I blew up in England. I was doing game shows. I became a personality. It was always in the back of my mind to take it to Hollywood. And it just so happened that everything started to fall into place.”

What helped most, though, was that Hugh Hefner spotted her and contacted her agent. Next came lingerie shoots for Playboy, followed by an offer to visit the Playboy Mansion. “He took a liking to me and said, ‘I’d like you to move over and live in the house with me. I’ve got six other girlfriends; I hope you’re OK with that. But there’s a place here for you.’”

She knew she didn’t want to stay in England and continue to struggle as a single mother. “These implants that I bought, all of a sudden changed my life within six months. The next thing you know, I’m on the airplane with my son to fly out to L.A. and move into the mansion. I lived there and dated Hef and worked for Playboy for four years.”

Based on those experiences, she has written a book about life in the Playboy Mansion, though it still has yet to be published.

After she left Playboy, Banx thought about getting into porn. “I had said to [Hef] one day, ‘How would you feel if I took it a step further and started to do porn?’ He said, ‘It would probably break my heart.’ It was not the response I wanted. At the time I was devoted to him and indebted to him because he got me my green card.”

Hefner didn’t even want Banx to shoot for Playboy’s Spice Channel. “But you want me to have an orgy with you—what’s the fucking difference?” she added with a laugh.

After Hefner passed away and her child grew into adulthood, Banx began to reconsider a career in adult. “When I turned 44, I want to start to play out my bucket list,” she said. So it was time to talk to a friend of hers: Keiran Lee.

“I knew Keiran for years previously and he was the one that I went to talk to about this. About my concerns and just to find some friendly advice. And I trust him. So we sat down and had a friendly chat and he said, ‘Try it out, and try it out with me. You tell me how you want to play it out, and we’ll accommodate you.’ And that made me feel amazing about the whole experience.”

That’s the scene, listed on IAFD.com, that came to the attention of the Daily Mail Online.

So she moved from Florida to L.A. “My girlfriend Lela Star recommended I get with an agent so she recommended OC Modeling. … They were happy to take me on. Ever since then, everything’s happening and I’m enjoying every moment of it.

“That’s my life in a little nutshell. I’m planning to publish my book. I wanna do it myself. I might even add a little bit about this situation, or this might be a whole other book. Who knows? But yeah, that’s going to be my main focus now. Trying to publish my book and get that out there. ... But all these things I’m doing are just going to be another platform for me to get my name out there and it’s going to be better for me to sell my book. I’m just going to do more and more, and hopefully I become a bigger name in the industry and it will keep falling into place.”

Next, she hopes to attend more industry events. “I have to promote myself. I want to get involved—but not too involved,” she says. “I’m straddling the fence.”

Below, Banx shares more from the various phases of her career, answering various questions posed by AVN.

About that first boob job—were you curvaceous before?

I ended up having a kid at 16—my tits didn’t even fully develop. The little tit I did have became a little skin. I had to do something about it. So I saved up my welfare money—at the time it was 2,500 pounds—and I bought my first pair of implants. God, if I knew this was going to happen from getting a pair of fricking implants, I would have changed a lot things and not made so many stupid mistakes with guys. A pair of implants really did change my life. Hef liked them. But Hef ended up buiying me two more sets after that, just because I wanted bigger ones, I wanted softer ones.

How did you get into glamour modeling?

My whole life has been modeling. My mom put me in modeling when I was six, so all I know is being in front of the camera. … I did mother-and-daughter shots, modeling clothes … catalog work, even knitting posters. … It was cool but my mom would drag me out of school a lot and that would get on my nerves because I loved going to school. ...

But turning into a glamour model took a whole load of new things on with the public—the scrutiny. There’s always gonna be bad publicity, especially in England. They’re pretty brutal. … But I had to accept that I’m not six-foot-two; I’m not going to be walking down the catwalk, so the other alternative that I have is to be a glamour model and portray the sexy.

How did your mother feel about your glamour modeling career?

She was always my best friend, always stuck by any decision I made. She wasn’t happy that I did Page 3 bedcause she was a little embarrassed, and I understand that. But after she got over, she said, "You just be you." So she was supportive after a while.

Glamour modeling seems to be a bigger deal in the United Kingdom. Is that true?

It’s changed so much in England, but there is a lot more work there for glamour modeling. Whereas here it’s not so much glamour modeling —it’s either fashion or it’s porn. … There’s no happy medium anymore. … I chose to lead that life. But I guess you have to take it with a pinch of salt. I’m not going to go to college to work in a laboratory if I’m not passionate about it.

What was it like living in the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner?

He was an amazing guy. He taught me a lot. Very intelligent man. He did a lot for me. We had amazing conversations. I guess he’s like the one man in my life that has given me my dreams and been a gentleman and really taught me a lot. … A lot of things that he did went down in history. … And he also taught me how to be a master manipulator. He didn’t sit me down and say, "This is how you do it." Me observing him, watching him, the way he would handle certain women. … I was with him 24/7 and every conversation with every different girl was different and I would figure out why. What a master at his craft in every way. Fascinating. And that’s why I wrote a book about him. Not one minute do I bag on him and say anything negative. He doesn’t have faults. He is a legend in his own right and he is who he is. …

I wanted to talk about the beautiful heart that he had and how he changed my life. He wasn’t a bad person, ever. It was the girls. He did sometimes play us one against the other. He loved the girls to fight over him.

What did porn give you that you weren’t already getting?

I think that a little part of me felt like I wasn’t getting what I wanted out of every relationship I’d had up to this point. Something was missing. At the time I couldn’t put my finger on it. But now that I’m older and I look back … It was always to do with sex, intimacy, pleasure. There were always issues. Whether they were jealous because of how I look and what I do—there was always static in that part of my life. I really wanted to explore the sexuality to its fullest potential. And not only that, because I’ve loved being in front of the camera my whole life, I have no problem performing. Being an entertainer. So I would like to be a character for people who desire to watch that. I want to be a part of their pleasure, let’s say, and in the same time I’m receiving pleasure from it too.

You’ve only done a couple of scenes, but you’ve already worked with two top performers: Keiran Lee and Manuel Ferrara. What were those experiences like?

Two of the best guys tore me up in half but I played it off. I did a good job. But at the same time I thought, this is how fucking sex is meant to be. How it’s meant to feel. This is the act. This is how it should be done. ...

I shot yesterday with Manuel. The funny thing is, years ago I used to rent a house in Woodland Hills and we ended up renting it out a lot to Digital Playground and that’s when I met Manuel and I became friends with him. … What a talented guy. He really knows his craft. … He did something to me that has never happened before and I didn’t even know I could do. I feel like I’m an official adult now. I’m a grown woman. … I thanked him so much for popping my squirt cherry. It was a great scene. It was shot for Jules Jordan, and I adore him as well. I’ve got a lot of stuff coming up. I don’t even know if my little girl can handle it. She’s going to have to get used to it. … My downstairs is not that big. Keiran killed me; I was on the floor for two hours. But yesterday wasn’t so bad, so I guess I’m being broken in.

How long do you think you’ll stay in the industry?

As long as no drama comes of it, or any sort of negativity … I’ll stay into it for a couple years maximum. I’m more into running my businesses [she also works as a personal trainer] and being legit on that side of it. Porn’s not going to last forever. … I’m 44 years old—hot MILF, I don’t know what a run I can get out of that. It’s going to start going south. I’m going to try and last as long as I can.

Do you have social media under the name Robbin Banx?

Social media is everything these days. I’ve made an IG page, I’ve made a Twitter, I’ve made an OnlyFans. So yeah, I’m doing what I can to get her out there. But working with these big companies is going to get me out there. They’re great at marketing, they’re great at promoting their material, so I’m going to get great advertisement from that. A lot of people have stopped doing porn for big companies and pretty much doing it themselves online. I don’t really have the time to do that so I’d rather shoot for companies and have it just be done with. ... There are some great people and I’m enjoying working with them.
