TORONTO—Retailer Good for Her held its inaugural Toronto International Porn Festival over the past four days in several venues around the titular city, culminating with the new iteration of what was formerly known as the Feminist Porn Awards.
Good for Her rebranded the awards after a 10-year run that began in 2006 as a response to "people who felt that the previous name and contexts were not inclusive of them as attendees, directors and/or performers," according to the Toronto International Porn Festival website. Following a respite in 2016 from producing the awards show, Good for Her revived it this year under the new name, with the updated objectives being "to broaden the conversation about positive porn and reflect the diverse audience it attracts. These films are for people of all genders, sexualities, bodies and pleasures."
Prior to Sunday night's awards ceremony, other events of the festival included showcases of "Public Provactive Porn," the "Kinkier Side of Lust" and a seminar entitled "Digital Play X" centering on "VR porn, erotic shorts and talks."
