Amelie Lou began her modeling career “by accident.”
The native of Ukraine was studying at an art school in Paris while doing sales at a sex shop when she had a chance encounter.
“I had never considered it before because I am quite petite and thought that all models must be tall,” Amelie tells AVN. “One day a photographer visited our shop and asked if he could photograph me. I was flattered and went the next day for a shooting.
“The shoot went well, and I loved being in front of the camera. He recommended me to other photographers and things just took off from there.”
Now the 23-year-old natural beauty, who also is known as Clarice, is a seasoned model with major credits such as MetArt, Playboy, Nubiles and WowGirls on her resume. And a few weeks ago, she teamed with Chris Hunt’s SuperbeModels to launch her first official website that features exclusive photosets and a variety of erotic videos.
Amelie also shares backstage and lifestyle content such as nude yoga and painting on AmelieLou.com, which is part of the SuperbeCash network.
She says her modeling journey has been a life-changing experience.
“It’s opened up an entire world to me that I may have never known existed,” Amelie says. “I am just a girl from a small town in Ukraine, but I have had the opportunity to travel around the world and meet some amazing people from so many different cultures.
“It’s changed my life, and I deeply appreciate the opportunities it has presented me. And of course I am like any normal girl so I love that I get to dress up in amazing fashions!”
Standing 5-foot-5 with stunning blue eyes, Amelie Lou says her modeling poses come naturally for her.
“Maybe from my experience as a painter and studying the human form in art school,” she suggests. “But I never really looked at how others posed, or practiced in the mirror.
“Maybe I am not even doing it right, but no one has complained so far…”
In this exclusive Q&A, Amelie discusses her progression as a nude model, her ambitious vision for her site, her passion for painting and what she’s learned along the way.
AVN: Where are you from originally—born and raised?
AL: I was born in a small town by the seaside in Ukraine. I was raised there until my teenage years when I went to Kiev, our largest city, for my studies.
What were you doing for work before you started modeling?
I don’t come from a wealthy family so I was taking odd jobs from an early age… selling fruit or working part time in a cafe for instance. But my first real job was actually working in a sexy shop! While I was studying at art school in Paris I took a job as a sales girl in a sex shop. It was right next to my apartment, paid well, and I had always been curious about erotica. It was a really eye-opening experience, and I met some really interesting people. I would say it really opened my mind to erotica as a business and also as a form of free expression.
What was your feeling about doing nude photos at first?
Wow, it was like an awakening for me. I felt so liberated to play in front of the camera. It’s funny because until that point I had actually been quite shy. And I was only 18 and had very little sexual experience. But for some reason it just felt so natural to be nude and creating images that were both erotic and sexual, but also looked like fine art… like something that could hang on the wall of an art gallery. And I admit that I liked the attention, too. I never had much attention from men or women before that, I couldn’t even get dates. So all of a sudden to be the focus of all that sexual energy was amazing.
For readers who may not know about you yet, how would you describe your personality?
I feel like I have some characteristics that are always with me, and then other characteristics that turn on and off depending on the situation. For instance, I have always been a very artistic and sensitive person, even from a very early age. And I am also quite studious, some would even say serious. But then when the mood strikes me I can be wild, and loud, and fun, and even a bit crazy! It’s like all my pent-up energy is released in one burst!
How did you connect with Chris Hunt and Superbe Models?
It was meant to be… I had actually already been a fan of Chris’ fashion work and was following him on Instagram. And it turned he was following me on Instagram, too. But I don’t think we would ever have met and worked together if it wasn’t for the world shutting down from Covid. He was in Kiev for a trip that was supposed to last only a few days when the borders closed and he got trapped there. I had been traveling back to see my family in Ukraine at the same time and got stuck in Kiev, too. It was only random chance that we passed each other on the street and he recognized me. I don’t know what that is, like a billion in one chance? We talked a bit, he told me about the new Superbe Models project he was starting. I told him that I was really looking for a way to elevate my work in erotica, to create something really special. It was perfect. I think you say a “meeting of the minds?” From then on we were working together almost every day.
What do you think of your official website being launched now? What are your favorite features of your website?
I am so proud of what we have done with this site. Creating something of this caliber has been in my head for years, and to see that dream realized is actually a very emotional experience for me. The style of the content is beyond anything in the industry. It really looks like we are creating films and photos for Gucci or Givenchy. It’s totally unique from anything I have ever done before. Plus it gives me space to play around with different ideas, like the “My Life” videos that are sort of mini documentaries about my real life. Or that I can upload selfie videos for fans whenever the mood strikes me. And one feature I love is the phone and video chat for members. I am learning so much about my fans, and they are teaching me so much, too. It took a lot of work to get here, I have had to learn things about web development, payment processors, and marketing I never even knew existed! But it’s a really special feeling to know that I am not “just” a model now, I actually have my own business.
What have you learned about yourself since you started modeling?
When I look in the mirror, I still see myself as that little girl from the village. I sometimes have to stop and take a moment to recognize how much I have evolved. I have learned that I am a sexual being, and this is healthy and empowering. I have learned that I have a lot more to offer the world than just my looks or my body. And I have learned the value of hard work, and how satisfying it feels to accomplish my goals.
Would you consider doing erotic scenes with another model in the future or do you prefer to focus on solo modeling?
This is actually a tough question for me. What I first think about is whether the work I am creating is beautiful and sensual. Being solo gives me more control over this. But I recognize that sometimes it’s not enough for the fans… they want to see more explicit or sexual work with other girls and guys. All I can say is that I will only do what feels comfortable and natural to me. And if I do work with others, I will certainly make sure it’s beautiful and something special.
What advice would you give a new model trying to establish herself?
First is to only do what you want to do. There are so many people pushing models to do more and more and more, but doing more than you are comfortable with is just not healthy. The next advice is to take ownership of your work and your image. If you don’t think something is going to look good and show you in a positive light, then just don’t do it. There are always other opportunities to come so you don’t need to compromise yourself. And finally, it’s OK just to have fun with modeling, but if you really want to make it a business or a career then you need to think of it as a business or a career. Take it seriously, learn, ask for advice. And finally, appreciate it for all the unique benefits… travel, meet amazing people, learn about the world. That’s what really makes modeling wonderful.
When did you begin painting? What kind of medium do you like to paint in? How would you describe your style of painting?
I began painting when I was just a little girl. Art class was always my favorite and you would often find me staying after school to draw and paint. My medium is very traditional, oil on canvas. But my style is not at all traditional… it’s even a bit wild and crazy. I always think first about color combinations, even before I have an idea of subject. And then maybe if I am feeling a bit wild I will splash the colors across the canvas until something materializes. I have wasted a lot of canvas this way, but when it does come together it always feels so special. I do sometimes feel a bit calm and then may do a more traditional landscape or nude figure study. But usually my art is where my wild side comes out.
How do you feel when you paint? How often do you paint?
Painting is sort of a meditation for me. Even when I am painting something wild, my mind is very quiet and centered. I think this is why I paint a few times a week. It’s a creative outlet for me, and I love if I end up with something that people appreciate as art. But even if I just have to throw the canvas away afterward just the process makes feel so peaceful and grounded.
What is your greatest achievement so far?
I honestly can say that my new website is my greatest achievement in this industry. I have shot many scenes and photos over the years, but for the first time I feel like I am creating something that has real value for myself and my future.
What’s next for you—how do you see the rest of 2021 and beyond?
I am keeping it simple. For now, I just want to grow my website as much as I can. That means I am shooting every day, and spending time on the day to day of running the business. I really want to travel as much as I can this year, and of course I will be shooting everywhere I go. I am not thinking too much long term beyond the goals of growing my business. The world is always throwing new challenges, and new opportunities, and I guess my life philosophy is just to go with the flow.
