SAN FRANCISCO—Shine Louise Houston and the crew at Pink & White Productions have wrapped filming on Chemistry Eases the Pain, the second crowdfunded movie from the company.
The cast and crew worked seven days on the film. More than 300 backers and counting contributed to the Indiegogo.com campaign to fund the film, making it the second feature crowdfunded by Houston and Pink & White Productions; the first was Snapshot.
“Films don’t make themselves; you’ve actually made this film for me. Without you I am nothing, so thank you, thank you, thank you!” Houston said in an email to backers.
Chemistry Eases the Pain features Lotus Lain, who Frankie, a staunchly lesbian-identified college student who finds herself attracted to straight male classmate Matt, played by Logan Pierce.
Nina Hartley co-stars as Frankie’s mother, and additional cat members include Mona Wales, Emperatrix, Valentine, Nicki Honey, and a cameo by non-binary rocker Jack Strano of Sugar High Glitter City fame.
The campaign for Chemistry Eases the Pain is still allowing donations, all of which will benefit the cast and crew.
