Private and France's Moviesystem Sign Broadband Licensing Deal

Private Media Group Inc. announced an agreement to provide access to its content library to subscribers of Moviesystem's NetCine video-on-demand service.

Starting in May of this year, subscribers to broadband service providers in France will be able to view Private's substantial catalogue of adult videos on-demand. Payment will be made through the subscribers' broadband provider, eliminating the need for credit cards and the disclosure of other personal information. In addition, the service will be subject to parental lock to avoid access by minors.

"We are very pleased to have the possibility to release the Private library in video-on-demand format. It is an exciting opportunity for us to work with the leading brand in the adult industry," Maxime Japy, CEO of Moviesystem, said.

"We are delighted to have been chosen by Moviesystem as one of their two exclusive adult content providers," said Charles Prast, President and CEO of Private Media Group.

By the end of 2002, it was estimated that 1.5 million households in France subscribed to broadband Internet Access. According to a recent study conducted by IDATE, this figure is expected to rise to 4 million households by 2005.
