PinkTV.com Nearing Launch

On Feb. 13, PinkTV.com, the Web division of the Pink TV Network, opened its doors to a limited number of beta-test users.

After two and one-half years of producing exclusive content, two years of construction headaches in building out the company’s 25,000-plus-square-foot studio operations in Miami, and almost a year of eye-catching-but-intentionally-vague advertising in the adult media, Pink TV has pulled back the veil and offered the world a glimpse of just what it has been working on all this time.

During the beta-test period, only about half of the website’s functionalities are available. Nevertheless, Pink TV is committed to having nearly 95 percent of the site’s functionalities deployed by April 1—the company’s official public launch date. The site is being updated daily with more and more content, and the Pink TV channel, scheduled for launch in 10 European markets later this year, already is broadcasting live through the website. Roughly 25 percent of the company’s content has been published to the site and is available on demand.

In mid-April, the company plans to launch the interactive services component of PinkTV.com. Users will be able to interact live with Pink TV models and purchase items displayed in Pink TV shows through direct points of sale in the middle of a broadcast. PinkTV.com features exclusive programming that includes original films, a vast library of hardcore scenes, original television series, more than 16 live voyeur feeds of the company’s sprawling facilities, and interactive services, such as one-on-one private video chat with the same adult stars who appear in much of Pink TV’s broadcast lineup.

Starting in April, Pink TV subscribers will be given the opportunity to bid in an auction-style environment, where the highest bidder gets to be first in line to privately interact with some of the hottest stars in adult. This is an opportunity that viewers have never been offered before while enjoying erotic programming.

“We have a breakthrough product that will change porn from a spectator sport into one where viewers can participate live in the action,” says Jan Verleur, president of Pink TV. “We have spent nearly three years preparing for this launch, and we are all very excited to see our hard work and dedication come to fruition.”

The company holds a broadcast license that allows its channel to be broadcast throughout the European Union, and it has its eyes set on American TV for 2007. In markets where the Pink TV channel is not yet available on cable or satellite, consumers can access the network now through the website.
