SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—Pink and White Productions is inviting Bay Area porn connoisseurs to come together and enjoy erotic films like they did in adult’s golden days: at the cinema! The occasion is the debut of a new screening series PinkLabel.TV Presents. Hand-curated to pair diverse themes with altruistic pursuits, PinkLabel.TV screenings benefit community organizations and shine a spotlight on the site’s eclectic adult film catalogue.
PinkLabel.TV Presents begins on Sunday, November 18, at the New Parkway Theater in Oakland, California with Cheryl Dunye’s sex comedy Mommy is Coming. A sassy, raunchy, romantic sex comedy set in the edgy underground of Berlin, the film has been honored by the Feminist Porn Awards and has screened at Berlinale, Frameline, and other festivals worldwide. Mommy is Coming is preceded by short films opening the program: Tribute and Crystal Clear by Max Disgrace, Orgy #001 by AORTA Films, and Birthday by PinkLabel.TV’s very own curator, Shine Louise Houston.
“If you screen them, they will come.” (But let’s keep the sex on-screen only, please!) Following in the footsteps of local and international adult film festivals, and in the legacy of the San Francisco’s iconic Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theatre, the screening series aims to provide a place where creators and film buffs can appreciate creative works which challenge social preconceptions of porn and sexuality.
The New Parkway Theater (whose motto is “Pizza, Pub, and Picture!”) is known for community-focused programming and its locally-sourced menu, craft beers, and comfortable couch seating. The venue welcomes the screening, having housed past presentations of festivals like Cinekink in addition to screenings by Dunye, Houston, and many other adult filmmakers over recent years.
Tickets prices range from $10-$50, with proceeds benefiting the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project. Due to explicit content, attendees must be over 18 years of age to attend. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit PinkLabel.TV.
