Pineapple Support, Paxum Launch Sobriety Support Group

LOS ANGELES—Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group to help performers navigate substance use and sobriety. Sponsored by Paxum, the monthly support group, “Balanced Pathways: Navigating Moderation Or Sobriety” will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Dr. Monique Martinez and begin on Monday, March 4th, at 4 p.m. PST.

"We are thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the vital services Pineapple Support offers to adult industry professionals," stated a Paxum representative. "In recent years, Pineapple Support has significantly improved the mental health and wellbeing of thousands of content creators by providing valuable resources such as professional therapy, supportive workshops, and comprehensive mental health guidance within a safe and inclusive environment. As the preferred global payment service for the industry, Paxum takes pride in backing Pineapple Support's ongoing efforts through our sponsorship."

Pineapple Support was founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected more than 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.

"We launched this support group in response to recent events in the industry, ensuring we are acting fast towards the needs of performers," says Tanit. "Whether or not you’re sober, or want to be, we’re hoping to create a supportive environment to explore wellness and balance. Dr. Martinez will offer innovative approaches to help you navigate the spectrum from problematic substance use to moderation or complete sobriety. We all have individual journeys and choices, and we want to provide people with a fresh perspective on recovery."

Sessions will last for around one hour and will take place online on the first Monday of each month at the same time. For more information about this support group and to reserve a spot, visit pineapplesupport.org/support-groups.
