CHATSWORTH, Calif.—With the holiday season now in full swing, another annual cause for rejoicing among the adult entertainment community arrives today as AVN Media Network proudly presents its nominations for the 2014 AVN Awards, taking place January 18 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and hosted by adult superstars Chanel Preston and Samantha Saint.

With 135 categories across the industry's four main sectors, these nominations honor the very best work over the past year by those in virtually every facet of the adult sphere. The AVN Awards nominating committee spent roughly six weeks painstakingly sifting through all the material at their disposal to compile the list.
As per usual, Evil Angel came out the biggest powerhouse contender among adult companies, racking up a staggering 161 nominations. The closest behind Evil for total noms was Wicked Pictures with 138, followed by Jules Jordan Video with 104. Industry leaders Vivid Entertainment and Juicy Entertainment/Exquisite Multimedia made very impressive showings as well, with respective nomination tallies of 75 and 70.
Movie makers who proved powerhouses in their own right included Axel Braun, B. Skow and Will Ryder, with Braun's releases collecting 45 nominations, Skow's earning 35 and Ryder's 33. As far as single titles go, Ryder's Not the Wizard of Oz XXX (X-Play/Pulse) was one of the year's most recognized, garnering 16 nominations, while Braun's Man of Steel XXX (VividXXXSuperheroes) scored its own strong sum of 12. Of the three helmsman, Skow was the most prolific, turning out a dozen titles that received nods.
The most nominated title of all, however, was Brad Armstrong's fantastical masterpiece Underworld for Wicked Pictures, sweeping a whopping 17 categories.

"Our committee really worked to the bone to assemble these nominations, and it's as much an honor for us to bestow them as I hope it is for all those who've received one."
This year's inductees into the AVN Hall of Fame will be announced separately later this month.

The AVN Awards will take place at the close of the annual AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), which runs Jan. 15-18, also at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. AEE includes traditional exhibits, meeting rooms, exhibit suites, networking events, parties, product demos and educational components.
