Nectar Entertainment announced it has taken over its own distribution beginning with three new releases that will hit the street July 5. Nectar was formerly distributed by Bizarre Video, which recently merged with Jill Kelly Productions.
Nectar's upcoming titles are Marty Zion's Space 2077, Marty Zion's Beautiful Girls and Marty Zion's Perfection. The high-end producer that launched in September 2003 had been distributed by Bizarre Video since January.
"Nectar is now distributing on its own and we're looking to create our own brand and identity," Nectar CEO Sean Logan told AVN.com Thursday. "As CEO, I take it upon myself to give more attention to our consumers and our stores. Therefore, we're giving the end consumer the respect. AVN just gave us a (5A rating) on Metropolis. With the (5A rating) and the amount of exposure from AVN, we have had calls coming in directly through Nectar, and sales have gone through the roof. There have been mass re-orders on all our product."
