N.J. Town Council Approves Sex-Shop Zoning

On Monday, the Cherry Hill township council unanimously approved an ordinance allowing adult businesses to operate in four designated areas.

The township reluctantly agreed to the zoning measure after retailer Jim Restaino of Romantic Video and Boutique filed a lawsuit complaining of discrimination against adult-oriented businesses. However, the areas covered by the new ordinance do not include Restaino’s desired location on Route 70.

“We are just forced to face the fact that we are going to have to provide a zone,” Councilwoman Joyce Kurzweil told the Courier-Post.
