MSR Video and Falcon Studios, both big winners at the GayVN Awards, dominated the night of May 24th when the winners of the 12th Annual Grabby awards were announced at an event to honor the best work of gay adult entertainment in 2002.
White Trash Video won three awards including Best Comedy Video, leading MSR Video to a total of five awards, more than any other studio.
Falcon Studios was close behind with four awards on the strength of John Rutherford and Chi Chi LaRue's Deep South: The Big and the Easy, which earned the directors the Best Director Grabby, as well as being named Best Video. Deep South: The Big and the Easy earned awards for Best Duo Sex Scene and Best Group Sex Scene for a total of four Grabbys, more than any single title.
Matthew Rush and Carlos Morales were named Best Performers, with Matt Summers and Bret Wolfe winning the Grabbys for Best Newcomers. Wolfe won wide acclaim from the gay adult industry, capturing 10 awards including the GayVN Award for Best Newcomer.
"It's been an incredible year and I've learned a lot," said Wolfe. "It means so much to me, I can't even express. To go from being the fat kid in high school to this is just beyond me. I am having the time of my life. To share this most recent award from the Grabby's with Matt Summers is also such an honor. He is a fucking phenomenal performer and I am thrilled to be in his company."
Joe Gage, John Rutherford, J.D. Slater, Jason Branch, Michael Brandon and Jack Simmons were all inducted into the Wall of Fame.
