Mobile Porn Featured On 'Nightline'

ABC News’ “Nightline” managed to give a fairly even-handed approach to the topic of mobile porn during its Feb. 17 broadcast, despite host Martin Bashir’s opening proclamation that it is “a threat to children, families, and to many people’s sense of decency.”

Reporter Chris Bury, who was on the scene at the first Mobile Adult Content Congress in Miami in late January, twice mentioned that the adult industry has played a role in almost every recent technological advance.

The story featured several of the adult entertainment industry’s own, including OhMobile’s Jason Edwards, Waat Media’s Ian Aaron, Ergeo TV’s Jason Wituki, PocketGirls’ Todd Spaits, Xobile’s Harvey Kaplan, attorney Greg Piccionelli and performer Ron Jeremy.

“This is further proof of the expansion of the adult mobile industry in the U.S.,” says Edwards, president of OhMobile. “As the networks push phone services that offer more media and interaction, adult companies will be there to deliver the content people really want.”

Says Spaits: “The media coverage of the MAC Congress was a welcomed bonus, although I was disappointed in the usual ‘look what kids can get now’ spin that ‘Nightline’ put on the technology. However, any press is good for business, and I am willing to go on ‘Nightline’ anytime and discuss the extreme measures being taken by content providers and the mobile carriers to keep adult content out of the hands of children.”
