Mercedez told AVN.com Wednesday she has completed her exclusive contract with Vivid Entertainment Group and is now pursuing other opportunities within the industry.
The native of Corpus Christi, Texas, and former Miss Nude Universe (2003) said she still has seven Vivid features that have yet be released, and will be shooting one final movie for the company later this week. Even though she won’t be performing for Vivid after that, the Latin starlet will still make select promotional appearances on behalf of the company, such as a signing in Puerto Rico next month. In addition, she’s scheduled to be on four upcoming vividlive.com Webcasts.
Mercedez said that she enjoyed her three years with Vivid, where she made her adult film debut, and it was a mutual, amicable decision for her to move on.
“It was a great experience,” she said, adding she is proud of her accomplishments with Vivid such as getting her own, anatomically correct doll (through Plastic Fantasy), being a Vivid pin-up and creating her own Phallix toy. “I want to focus on my Website business now and try some other things.”
Mercedez, who is also a former bartender and Budweiser calendar model, is in the final stages of redesigning her official site, www.mercedezxxx.com, and is also planning to launch a handful of other sites as she builds her network with her company, Mercedez Online. In the meantime, Mercedez has begun adding hardcore, non-condom photo sets to her website, which is an “exciting” first for her. She also revealed she recently shot site content with Sandee Westgate and has a shoot schedule with Taylor Wane.
Mercedez's next appearance will be a feature dancing engagement at the Crazy Horse in Detroit Wednesday, Jan. 31 through Saturday, Feb. 3 during Super Bowl weekend.
